From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
May the Queen of Heaven, hear our prayers for a wonderful ending to our school year and may Our Father bless us with a safe and healthy summer.
Thank you for notifying the school if your children will be missing classes to attend the archery nationals. Good luck to all our students and coaches. Safe travels to all our families.
On May 14th twenty-four students will be graduating from St. Stanislaus School. Mass begins at 7:00 p.m. and the graduation ceremony will take place at the end of the liturgy. What a delight this class has been! Congratulations to these students and their families.
May 15th is Field Day. Activities will begin at 12:00 (noon) and continue until the end of the school day. There is still a need for volunteers for this special day, so it is not too late to sign up. Please contact Cindy Markway or sign up to volunteer on the Home and School Facebook page signup sheet. The plans for the day sound great! As is the tradition, 7th grade students will be taking a Field Trip as a part of their day’s events. Pray for a good weather day.
May 16th, the last day of school. The last day will begin with Mass at 8:00 a.m. in church. Children arriving with parents who are attending mass, do not need to check in at school before going to mass. After mass, there will be refreshments. This year, there will not be an Awards Assembly, but a CELEBRATION OF HOPE. We will finalize our activity for Ark of Hope. Each class will share about what they learned this year. This might be done in song, dance, poetry, video, or narrative; each class is planning their own 5 minute presentation. The classes will also be promoted to the next grade and received by their classroom teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Report cards will be available for parents to pick up after the program. The program is expected to be concluded by 11:00, which is our dismissal time. The buses will run at that time as well. There is no After School Care program that day.
The School Store is coming soon see the information below.
There is no summer program. Classes resume on Aug. 14 with a full day of school. Open House is scheduled for Aug. 12, 11:30 – 1:30, (following 10:30 a.m. Mass). Back to school packets will be available for pick up in the back of church, July 21 – July 30th.
There will be regular school office hours from 7:30 – 3:30 until May 25.
The School Office will be open on Tuesdays only during June and July, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Thanks to all for the many blessings we have received this school year. Thank you, parents, for your partnership in building up the kingdom of God right here in Wardsville. It has been a joy and a delight to work with you knowing that you give your support both spiritually and financially in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. MANY MANY THANKS! Have a blessed summer. Be safe and remember to include prayer in your summer activities.
May you find the HOPE of the resurrected Jesus.

Cross Country update from Shawn McCauley
Cross country is for boys and girls between 4th and 8th grade. There are normally 8 meets and about 14 practices. It is never a problem if a runner needs to miss any practice or meet for any reason. The distance run at each meet is normally 1.5 miles. Normally, no more than 2 miles are run at each practice.
We always pray together to start and to finish each time we are together. We try to make it a fun experience by incorporating team building experiences such as ultimate frisbee, relay races, different locations to run, popsicles, etc.
We would love to have as many people as possible come out for cross country. We are losing several 8th graders, and we would love to keep the fun going with our team. As with all other sports, a physical is needed before they can practice.
If you have any questions at all about cross country, please email me at shawnmccauley@embarqmail.com or call or text me at (573) 301-9293. Go Raiders!!! TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More
Volunteers needed
If interested in volunteering, please contact the office, 636-7802, so we can get things set up for next year. Thank you and happy spring!
