Literacy in Secondary Classrooms
Presented by Dr. Melia Franklin, Ozark R-VI School District
Study Alternative School Thursday, October 12, 2017
Please bring with you examples of e- or print curriculum and/or resources that require your students to read, write, and speak.
With over 21 years in education, Dr. Melia Franklin has sat in multiple seats: an inner-city middle school German teacher, suburban junior high reading teacher, rural high school English teacher, ELA Direcor for the State of Missouri and currently, the Director of Secondary Learning at Ozark R-VI Schools. Given the sum of those experiences, Dr. Franklin maintains the ability to teach with purpose - especially in literacy - which lies at the core of student learning. She relishes the opportunity to work with teachers to build our profession.
