Fall Festival
Who is the person behind the whip cream?
Scroll to bottom for the answer.
Thanks to our wonderful MEA community for coming out to the Fall Festival last Wednesday! Our very enthusiastic ASB spent a lot of time planning new and favorite events for everyone to enjoy! We had quite a great variety of different activities to choose from-love whip cream? Go to the pie toss. In for the food? Decorate a cookie, do the cake-walk or have a fudge pop. So many booths from pumpkin bowling to the scavenger hunt, animal balloons to the duck pond-to only name so few-were busy and we even had flag football and ping pong to get our PE in for the day! Thank you to every ASBer for putting so much energy into the fun afternoon and to everyone who attended the festival-your presence at our events makes our community even better every day! It was great to see the youngest K student to seniors all enjoying themselves together!! Just a sneak peek as on the 100th day of school, we are already talking about Field Day! Make sure you are there! :)

Days of Giving & Receiving
Until the new year, lets join together as an MEA community to acknowledge this season of Giving and Receiving. Small kindnesses, acts of self-care, love and empowerment take on a life of their own when we practice them together! Let’s go for it!! Look to the Monday Message and around campus for ideas of how to participate each day. Let’s enjoy this beautiful time of year together!!
Tuesday, 11/14 -- Say “hi” to someone you don’t know. Maybe even smile. Smiles are contagious!
Wednesday, 11/15 -- Make sure to spend some time in nature-even it is just under a tree admiring the leaves that have fallen. Or notice what you see in the clouds!
Thursday, 11/16 -- Help someone out. It could be opening a door or answering a question. They will appreciate it!
No nuts, please!
Due to students with severe allergies, we are asking that students no longer bring foods with nuts or nut products to school. We thank you for complying with this!

Art Contest for Air Pollution Control Calendar
The mission of the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is to improve air quality to protect public health. They are asking students in grades K-12 to think about the importance of clean, breathable air, and what the average person can do to help us all breathe a little easier. The APCD, with students' help, will be creating a 2018 calendar where each month will showcase their air quality artwork. The artwork must demonstrate ways to reduce air pollution and may include a clean air message.
The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, November 22, 2017 as APCD is seeking more entries. Even if a student’s artwork is not used in the calendar, the APCD website will have a gallery of all the submissions.
