Titans' Times
Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) for Dec. 11-15, 2023
Advent Season is Here!!
Last Monday we celebrated the First week of Advent and gathered as a school community to bless the Advent wreaths and start the preparation for the Advent journey. We will be gathering weekly through Advent
On December 8, we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of Jesus. In doing so, we honour Mary as one uniquely favoured by God, who from the first moment of her life was especially blessed by God. Mary did nothing to deserve such an honour; but when the time came she embraced the mission it entailed with her Yes to God.
Lord God, you chose Mary to be
the mother of your eternal Word,
Jesus. May her example help us
to be open to you and to answer
your call with generosity.
Amen
Blessings for a wonderful week,
Mrs. Kleparchuk, Principal
Mrs. Crowston, Vice Principal

Your Go-To Holiday Activity Pack
The holiday season is a time for the whole family to pause and reflect on all the things we are grateful for in our homes. When we can hear our kids complaining, whining or pointing out everything that they don’t have it can dampen the Christmas spirit. How can we support our children with the teachings of gratitude over the holidays? Watching movies together, reading books that teach about gratitude and spending time helping in the community are all great places to start.
Check out The Holiday Activity Pack from Big Life Journal below on how to inspire gratitude in your home. *All resources are age-appropriate and parent-approved.

GSACRD ADVENT CAMPAIGN: Our Lady of Kibeho Girls Orphanage in Uganda
Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. - Isaiah 1:17
Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is proud to engage our school communities in learning about and participating in the work of Catholic Social Teachings. We are called to Love God by loving our neighbour, anyone in need. We are the hands and feet of Christ.
This Advent, we are pleased to support orphaned girls of Our Lady of Kibeho Orphanage in Uganda.
Our Lady Of Kibeho Orphanage Foundation empowers vulnerable orphans in Uganda — many of whom lost their parents as a result of AIDS. Incorporated as a society in Alberta, Canada and registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, we provide the necessities of life: access to education, medical supplies, shelter, food, water, and clothing.
May this season of waiting in hope for the coming of our Saviour also be a time to give thanks for our blessings and to be generous with our gifts.
At Legal School, we will be collecting donations at the Christmas Concert for the Orphanage, along with a raffle for the Best Seats in the House, Principal's Prime Parking and a Christmas Guess the Candy Jar in order to raise funds for the GSACRD Advent Project. Watch for more details to come out next week!

French Immersion Survey 2023-2024
Dear GSACRD families,
We seek feedback from families who attended our French Immersion schools or programs and are no longer enrolled. French Immersion has been an integral part of Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools for over 40 years, and we take great pride in the quality of this program.
To continue providing quality French Immersion programming, we would like to understand better the needs and priorities of our parents and students and the reasons that led families to decide to leave the program.
Please follow the link below and take a few minutes to answer several questions. Your feedback will be compiled and considered as we continually work to update and improve our French Immersion program. Please note that surveys are anonymous.
This survey closes on January 1, 2024.
We thank you in advance for your input and look forward to learning from your experience in our GSACRD French Immersion program.
God Bless,
Cathy Giesbrecht
