“Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy!” St. Augustine
This week we have celebrated holy moments, the feast days of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Lucy, the third grade class’ patron saint. In addition, the school continues to keep an “advent” spirit about the school preparing for the coming of Jesus. It is amazing to me how much our students understand their faith. I hope they are sharing with you at home.
Thank you for coming to our Christmas Concert last week! What an awesome job our students did in singing, playing instruments, and displaying poise and discipline in front of such large crowds. Special thanks to Ms. Stumpe for her efforts and time in preparing all these classes. Thanks also goes out to our Home and School Association for giving Santa directions and details about coming to our program. What a nice touch!
Friday, Dec. 14 is Dress Down for Halo, our chosen charitable organization.
Next Friday, Dec. 21 is a Holiday Spirit Dress Down Day. Students may chose to wear Christmas colors (red/green) or Christmas shirts. They are also allowed to wear dress down bottoms as well. Hopefully all will come dressed in the spirit of Christmas and add to the celebration of this last day school before the holiday.
Just a reminder to all that Friday, Dec. 21 is an early dismissal at 12:30 p.m. Busses will run at that time. There is no After School Care on that day. To avoid a traffic jam, the carline will be supervised from 12:30 – 12:50 if you want to come a little later. Thanks for your patience and safe precautions as the car line will be extra full on that day. Let’s do our best to keep traffic from being backed up on Route W.
Just a little over a week remains in our first semester. The quarter ends on Friday, Dec. 21.
Update on the After School Care Program.
Thanks to all who have committed their time and effort to keeping the After School Care Program under local control. Mrs. Mary Kay Hoelscher will be directing the program beginning in January. Currently there 4 adults who have agreed to continue working in the program on certain days. Nine high school applications have been received. Mrs. Hoelscher and I are interviewing this week and next week. Thirteen people have volunteered to work.
Additional paid adults are needed. More volunteers are needed. We need your help first, in finding qualified adults to help staff the program. Secondly, it is vital that volunteers continue their efforts and be committed to helping the program. Now is the time to sign up for January & February. Crystal Miller has agreed to keep the sign-up sheet online. See the flier below. Thank you, Crystal.
Ads will be put in our bulletin and other parish bulletins to find additional workers. An ad will also be put on our facebook page.
