Our Mission
We will assist public middle and high school students in Forsyth County in preparing themselves for successful college enrollment.
Our Vision
We seek to ensure that every public school student in Forsyth County has the opportunity to attend college.
This newsletter, DestinationCollege2021, is published quarterly to keep you informed of activities, deadlines, and program opportunities. It is your responsibility to know deadlines and program requirements, so read your newsletter and log in to your Crosby Scholars student portal regularly to find out all the latest information.
Your March 9th deadline is almost here!!!
Check out our website for upcoming community service opportunities, and to download a community service form so you don't miss your March 9th community service deadline. There are so many ways to turn your form in. Just pick the method that's easiest for you, but... make sure to take a picture before your submit your form for your records!
1. Take a CLEAR picture or scan and email to info@crosbyscholars.org
2. Fax to 336-725-1321
3. Take it to your school's Student Services Office
4. Upload your form to the documents page of your Crosby Scholars Student Portal
5. Mail to 2701 University Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27105
However you decide to submit your form, make sure it's before the deadline, and make sure you keep a copy just in case you need to resubmit your hours.

If you would like to run for Crosby Scholars Sophomore Vice-President at your school, please submit a self-nomination form through your Crosby Scholars Student Portal between March 26 and April 20. Voting through the Crosby Scholars Student Portal will begin on May 1.
Vice-Presidents must have cumulative GPAs of 2.5 or higher.

Can't make the meeting? You will receive an email with the link to register for the Grade Advisor Webinar, which will give you a quick recap of the information covered in the meeting at the end of each month.
We also highly recommend you download the meeting handout which can be found in your Crosby Scholars Student Portal and on our website. You can also find the recording of each webinar by clicking this link as well.
The Grade Advisor Program for Freshmen are group meetings after school beginning in January that cover a variety of topics to prepare you for college admission. All meetings will take place at your high school.
Don't Get Caught with Summer Melt
Cool Summer Activities:
- Volunteer with a non-profit organization
- Participate in a summer camp at a college or university
- Job shadow a professional in a field you are interested in
- obtain an internship or summer job
- Work at youth summer camps
Many college campuses also offer summer camps and programs that students can apply to attend. However, be mindful that some of these programs have fees or other requirements associated with them.
Freshman Year Timelines
As a Freshman, it is a good idea to know your graduation requirements and minimum admissions requirements. Utilizing free resources such as CFNC and CollegeBoard will ensure that you are up-to-date on the most important college admission information. Using a yearly timeline can assist you in making sure you are on track to successfully finish high school and apply for college. Below are links to great timelines for success and other resources to help you prepare for the remainder of this year and next school year.
Is College On Your Mind?
Did you know there are close to 4,000 colleges in the United States? With so many options, you will need time to develop a target list that interests you! There are many resources available to help you with your search. Each college has a website. Begin by visiting the website. Take notes so the volume of information does not overwhelm you.
Research and exploration before the application is a journey, the more time and effort you put forth up front, the happier you will be in the end! As a Crosby Scholar, it is not too early to begin this journey!
Your Portal to Success: the Crosby Scholars Student Portal
As a high school student, We recommend you log in to your Crosby Scholars student portal at least bi-weekly to keep your information updated and to register for academies.
If you don't know how to access your Crosby Scholars student portal, send an email to highschool@crosbyscholars.org with your name and email, and someone will assist you.
Parents can monitor their student's Crosby Scholars student portal, view announcements and events, and confirm if their student has fulfilled program requirements by logging in to their Crosby Scholars parent portal. If you need assistance accessing your parent portal, please email highschool@crosbyscholars.org.
