Glen Acres Elementary School
Principal Letter
August 12, 2019
Dear Families,
I hope you are enjoying all the fun that summer time can bring!
There is a lot of school opening information on the WCASD home page. As a reminder, please log onto the parent portal system to complete back to school paperwork and find important information about transportation, immunizations, activity fees and your child’s teacher name (available through the parent portal after 8/13 and by 8/16).
If you are having difficulty accessing the portal, I have attached directions below.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you soon! Donna

In the past, I have shared a summary of PSSA and survey data at Open House. This year, in an effort to be more effective and respect your time with your child's classroom teacher, I am including a snapshot summary of that information in this newsletter.
.
18-19 Survey Data Summary
For those interested in the process that we as a district go through relating to the surveys, the GAE survey and other school survey information is first reviewed at the district level by Dr. Scanlon and the school and district leadership team. Then, each principal reviews key details with his/her director during our annual review to reflect and analyze opportunities for growth. Please find attached highlights from the survey data.
18-19 PSSA Data
Attached, please find a summary of our 3-5 graders scores on the state tests.
The First Day of School
*August 26 at 8:30 A.M.
We are looking forward to greeting and welcoming your students to school on the first day. Please know that we will make sure our students feel comfortable and know where to go once they arrive to school. For students who are being dropped off by their parents via car or walking, the drop-off area is in the circle (left of front office) near the gym. At the stop sign, make a left and follow the traffic pattern. The doors will open at 8:00 A.M. Bus riders will be dropped off by the front door.
