Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
St. Stanislaus School undergoes its Self-Study evaluation this year. This process is directly related to long range planning and accreditation. The evaluation takes place every 6 years. Staff members, School Board members, administration and parents review the eleven standards: Mission and Philosophy; Climate; Leadership; Professional Staff; Curriculum; Instruction; Services; Facilities; Finance and Planning; Early Childhood Program; and Before and After Care Program. I am thankful to the many individuals who said “yes” to serving on the subcommittees of this very important process. The Steering Committee, Angela Kolb, Kristy Grothoff, Michelle Sherry, and Nancy Heberlie, will compile data and information and create the final report for the visiting team. A Visiting Team will come at the end of February to conduct a thorough study of the strengths and weaknesses identified by the self-study process.
ARK OF HOPE. A couple of students in our school made a decision on their own to donate their birthday money to the Ark of Hope instead of using the money personally. What a wonderful way for parents to teach their children about those in need. This exemplifies our mission statement about being a child of faith, service, integrity, and leadership.
ITBS. The results of the Iowa Basic Standardized Tests have been received by the school. A preliminary review shows that our students performed very similar to last year, which is good. Students will be bringing home their individual results soon. Students in grades 3-8 were tested at the beginning of October. These tests indicate the progress of the students and identify the strengths and weaknesses in our instruction.
Drop off reminder. Here is the schools morning schedule.
6:55 – 7:20. Morning Care
7:20 – 7:35 Teacher Supervision of Students in the gym.
7:35 – 7:40 Announcements and All School Prayer in the gym
7:40 – 7:45 Students travel to the classroom and prepare for the day.
7:50 Tardy bell rings. Classes begin. Cafeteria door is locked.
8:00 Mass begins on Wed. and Thursday, classes begin after mass about 8:30.
This year we have had many tardy students. If a student arrives after 7:50, parents are to walk the student to the office using the front door and sign in the child. There have been rare occasions when young children have been dropped off after 7:50 and the child found the door locked. Most children know that when that happens they are to come to the only door that is unlocked during the day, the front door by the office. Let’s keep everyone safe and work to decrease the number of morning tardies.
May the blessings of God our Father and His son Jesus Christ fill you with hope.
