Special Programs

Age Level: 4 and 5 year olds
The well-known, prestigious Heritage Ballet of Lincoln is offering the basics of ballet with a healthy mix of creative dance done through popular children's songs and freestyle dancing. There is no charge for this class.
Captain Underpants Movie Party
Monday, September 18, 3 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: 6 years old and up
Celebrate an early school release day and see what George, Harold, and Captain Underpants are up to. Join us as we watch this hilarious animated PG movie. You’ve read about the pranks in these favorite children’s books, now witness them on the library’s big screen. There will be snacks and plenty of Captain Underpants’ books for you to check out!
Children Programs
Baby Story Time (Ages: infant to 2 years)
Thursdays at 10 a.m. at Harmony Library
Join us for reading, singing, bouncing, playing, and fun! This program is designed to be a weekly program for babies and caregivers to attend together. Begins September 21.
Toddler Time (ages 2 - 3 ½)
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Harmony Library and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. at Glocester Manton Library
Join us for stories, songs, finger plays, flannel activities, and social play to ready your toddler for preschool and beyond. Begins September 19.
Preschool and Kindergarten (3½ – 5)
Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at Glocester Manton Library and Thursdays at 11 a.m. at Harmony Library
The preschool programs are designed to help your child develop skills that are fundamental building blocks for school readiness. Children will read stories, engage in movement/music activities, and do a craft. Children are encouraged to participate independently while caregivers remain in the library. Begins September 20.
Make It, Take It Crafts
September 5 to September 30, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: 3 years old and up *Children under 5 years old may require parental assistance.
Children are invited to "drop in" to the Glocester Manton Children's Room for a craft they can make and take home. Crafts will be available during library hours and will rotate on a bimonthly schedule.
After School Wild Adventures Series
Monday, September 25, October 2, 16, 23, and 30, 4:30 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Grades 1 -5
Come and explore Chepachet’s wildlife. This series of after school classes will be presented by Mary Grande, DEM Wildlife Outreach Coordinator and Ms. Nancy, Youth Services’ Assistant. We will tour outside the library looking for birds, animal tracks, and other wildlife as well as play wildlife games, view show & tell nature items, and do a nature craft.
National Playdoh Day
Saturday, September 16, 10:30 a.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: 2 - 6
Celebrate National Playdoh Day! Join us for Playdoh fun with none of the cleanup! Children will be encouraged to explore using different colors of Playdoh and Playdoh utensils. See what creations your child makes!

The Cookbook Club
Monday, September 11, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
The Harmony Library Cookbook Club returns to its monthly schedule with the cookbook
selection, Good Cheap Eats by Jessica Fisher. The club is a great way to sample new dishes without doing all the work! Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the meeting. Everyone samples each other dishes and discuss the cooking experience. If you would like to join, register online at www.glocesterlibraries.org and then pick up a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk. We hope to see you!
The Fearless Art Club
Wednesdays, September 13 and 27, 2:30 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
In September, members will explore and practice drawing glass and metal texture using graphite and colored pencil.
Pasta from Scratch with Professor Chef
Monday, September 18, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Learn how to prepare fresh pasta in this very hands on class with Professor Chef. We will be guided on how to use wooden tools instead of a pasta machine to create different dough shapes and sauces. The menu will include orecchiette with sausage and red peppers, cavatelli with spinach and prosciutto, and a quick vegetarian sauce.
Zentangle
Wednesday, September 20, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Adults and teens (Ages 14+) are invited to learn how to draw beautiful images using structural patterns on tile. Note: There is a $5 materials' fee.
Writers' Support Group

Read and share your personal projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres. Registration is not necessary.
