From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
St. Stanislaus, pray for us! St. Margaret of Antioch, pray for us! All you holy men and women, pray for us! Happy Feast of All Saints.
Saintly pumpkins lined the sidewalks to church this morning for Mass. The pumpkins had been donated to the school, one for each child. During art classes, Mrs. Gibbons, helped the children paint the pumpkins with saintly themes for today’s celebration. You can find pictures on the school’s facebook page.
Tomorrow, Nov. 2, is the Feast of All Souls, some of the classes will take a special walk through the cemetery to prayerfully remember those who have gone on before us.
Thanks for coming out for the Home and School’s Trunk or Treat event. Though we had fewer trunks than last year, there were plenty of treaters to see. What a festive and fun evening. Thank you, God, for the nice weather.
Congratulations to our two volleyball teams, 5/6th Grade and Varsity. Each took the championship in their division in the Catholic Bowl last weekend. What an exciting time for all! Many thanks to our coaches and athletic director for promoting good sportsmanship and developing the skills needed of such achievements.
Recently the kindergarten class has experienced a lice problem. When the school finds lice or is informed by a family that their child has lice, a note is sent home to all the students in the class notifying parents to check their child. Parents are notified by phone if lice are found during the school day. The parents are expected to treat the child before the student returns to school. St. Stanislaus School does not have a “no nit” policy, so children normally are not checked by the school before returning. Checking children and removing nits takes considerable amount of time and resources. The school appreciates the parent’s thoroughness in taking care of these issues. The school cleans the room, vacuums rugs, and helps children keep coats and hats separate from each other.
Last week, the school sent home a special envelop with the Economic Survey for e-rate. Thank you for taking the time to complete the form and return it. With 100% return, the school can get a larger e-rate refund. Unfortunately, to date, only 63% have been returned. The deadline was Oct. 31. The office will still accept the forms.
Just a reminder that school dismisses at 1:00 on Thurs. Nov. 2. Bus service and the After School Care program are available at dismissal. There is no school on Monday. Nov. 6.
May the blessings of God our Father and His son Jesus Christ fill you with hope.
