WHAT WILL THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR LOOK LIKE?
We are excited to share with you that our OASD elementary virtual learning format will shift a bit following the Memorial Day weekend. In an effort to capture the joy of the final stretch of a school year while also attempting to replicate traditions and cherished end of the year activities, your family can expect the following beginning May 26th-June 10th:
Continue with the same communication about daily lesson plans per grade level.
These plans will include a daily message from the classroom teacher, expectation for daily independent reading and/or math Dreambox, and a Virtual Enrichment opportunity to enjoy. See below for details. Please note each of these virtual experiences will be recorded to continue to allow families to do them when it works with their schedule.
Daily plans will allow your family to embrace the conclusion of a most memorable school year together as many experiences will be the same for our 4K-4th grade students.
Are you asking yourself, “What in the world is a virtual enrichment opportunity?” We have coordinated with our specials teachers and groups within our Oconomowoc community to offer the following schedule:
May 26 and 27: Grade level specific traditional end of the year experiences and activities such as virtual field trips. Your classroom teacher will share more details.
May 28: Oconomowoc Public Library Summer Reading Program
May 29: Sprouting Together (gardening, farming, along with health benefits)
The following 4 days will have the same schedule for all 5 OASD elementary schools so children from Summit to Sullivan, Okauchee to Ashippun, and Ixonia to Oconomowoc will all be doing the same thing on the same day
June 2: STEM Day/Inventor's Fair
June 3: Art in the 5-O's
June 4: Field Day Bingo
June 5: World Music Day
On the final 2 days we will return to Summit specific traditions:
June 9: "Imagine a Day" Lapham Peak Virtual Field Trip
June 10: Final Day of School All School Virtual Assembly
Your family will also be able to anticipate that classroom teachers will maintain their regularly scheduled Zoom/Google meetings and will host a final class meeting on June 10th.
Your partnership during the school closure is a gift we greatly appreciate. In return for your efforts to support and maintain a love of learning from home, we offer you these opportunities to have some fun as we close out the 2019-2020 school year.
