The Feudal System
The Feudal System
A system of government that arose out of the chaos of barbarianism in the early middle ages. It is a system in which noble men held land that the king could give them if he wished. They would get to live on the land but they would have to pay the king a rent, and this usually consisted of grain that they would grow. The King would also have Vassals, which are indentured servants, they would tend to my fields for hims as well. The vassals would also have gardens of their own that they could work on in their spare time and the king would give them two days off per week to work on their own gardens. The King would take any grain that they didn't need to survive for the year.
