Support Veterans in the 22 Push-Up Challenge
"According to a Department of Veterans Affairs study, 22 is the average number of veterans who die by suicide daily," states Lt. Colonel David McMickle, Senior Army JROTC instructor at Clarke Central. "Our cadets discuss the need not only to 'thank' veterans for their service but also support them when they return to civilian life. We encourage our community to read more about the challenge and donate to the Active Heroes organization."
Happy Family Engagement Month!
November is Family Engagement Month, a time to again recognize and celebrate the important role of parents, families, and caregivers in the education and well-being of their students.
We also highlight the crucial work of our Family Engagement Specialists, who are an essential link between home and school, providing families with resources to support student success.
Family engagement plays a key role in student achievement.
This month we will take the opportunity to feature this important work and the impact of these crucial relationships. YOU make a difference for the students of CCSD!
CCSD Celebrates School Psychology Awareness Week
School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
We thank these special members of our school communities for helping create supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

Youth COVID Vaccine Clinics On the Way!
Great news! The Pfizer COVID vaccine is now approved for 5-11-year-olds.
CCSD is working with the Georgia Department of Health (DPH) to coordinate school-based vaccine clinics for students. This vaccine is optional, and this opportunity is offered as a convenience to families. A parent/guardian must be present for their student to receive the COVID vaccine at school. Stay tuned for more information on the dates and locations for school-based clinics.
If you would like your child vaccinated before the upcoming school-based clinics, the Clarke County Health Department is booking appointments starting Monday, November 8th.
