SPECIAL PAINTING ON DISPLAY IN THE SUMMIT ART GALLERY!
We are pleased to announce artist Paul Schultz donated a beautiful painting he created during the Imagine a Day Lapham Peak all-school field trip last year. At the start of the field trip day Mr. Schultz found the ideal location on the kindergarten trail at Lapham peak and started to paint plein air (a french term for painting outside) style, and throughout the day each group of kindergarten Summit artists visited him on the trail to learn from Schultz the technique he uses to make his paintings. Voila, by the end of the day Schultz completed the painting and now Summit students have a chance to see the completed work of art permanently exhibited at Summit.
Please stop by the Summit office to see his masterpiece in person and/or visit http://www.sunarcstudio.com/ to enjoy more paintings and/or his architectural designs.
Special thanks to the Courtney Bella Foundation and Paul Schultz for their generosity and support of the Imagine a Day field trip!

WHAT TIME DOES SCHOOL START?
Our doors open at 8:30. Children are released from buses at 8:30 as well. Almost all of our children walk through the doors at 8:30 and they are in their classroom ready to learn by 8:35. If you are walking or dropping off your children please arrive between 8:30 and 8:35 so your child has time to get to their classroom, put their belongings away and start the day without feeling behind.
When the bell rings at 8:40 we expect all children to be in their classroom. We start the morning announcements and Pledge of Allegiance at this time and teachers quickly start their morning meetings soon after.
Thank you for your support in starting good habits for our students.
OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER!
Calling ALL Parents to Lend a Helping Hand!
Summit School has a beautiful labyrinth made by students out of 350 mosaic pavers. The labyrinth is called Summit Saunter, and it was made to encourage students to have the opportunity to have a chance for mindfulness and exercise during their recess time. Unfortunately, the labyrinth is in disrepair and the grass has grown completely over the pavers hiding all of the beautiful art!
We would love to have a parent, grandparent, family and/or Summit friend to lovingly trim the Summit Saunter Labyrinth.
Please contact art teacher, Jill LaGrange or the Summit office if you would be interested in saving an amazing work of art!
