Lunch Concert
On Thursday February 20, 11th grader Dylan R. surprised MEA with a virtuoso cello lunch performance. Venturing away from his classical roots, he unveiled the powerful potential of his instrument in contemporary music. Assisted by his brother James on the mixing board, Dylan lilted gracefully through ballads and blasted out rock licks. His audience of staff, students, and families was mightily impressed with his unconventional improvisations. We look forward to hearing more!
Thank you to Mr. Nielsen for the pictures.
Thank you to Mr. Richard for the write up.
"Esperanza Rising" and yarn dolls
Grade 7 students completed a study of the novel, Esperanza Rising, set in the early 1930s.
They learned about discrimination and determination through the novel, and put the skill of determination to use in learning how to braid.
