St. Libory Newsletter
Newsletter #11 - October 17, 2016
2nd Quarter begins this week!
This week we start the second of our four quarters. Please continue to maintain all routines and procedures you have at home. Things like where the backpack goes, where the library book stays, what time of evening your child does homework or the time you sit down to read for a few minutes each night, are all very important. Kids love routine!
Neb. State Test Results are coming home today!
Please look for your child's Individual Student Report along with a letter from the Nebraska Department of Education explaining some of the changes and challenges that took place last Spring in your child's Takehome Tuesday folder today! We look forward to having those scores as a baseline number and the progress our kids will make this year. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or me here in the office! Thanks!
Digital Citizenship Week!
We emphasize digital citizenship throughout the school year, but are putting an extra special emphasis on it this week with the help of our district wide technology specialist, Heather Callihan. She has developed a weeks worth of ideas for our teachers. Some of the activities are for our teachers and some of the activities involve our kids as well. We are also making plans for her to get into each classroom throughout the year to provide special learning opportunities for our kids regarding digital citizenship.
Please remember everything we do speaks! What you model at home with the digital tools you have has a huge impact on the kids in your home. Thanks for being a great role model for our kids.
We Welcome Mrs. Meyer in 2nd Grade!
We have a long-term substitute in 2nd grade for the next 6 to 8 weeks in place of Mrs. Studley who had a baby girl yesterday, October 16. Please welcome Mrs. Meyer! She isn't new to our school. Mrs. Meyer student taught in Kindergarten with Mrs. McCray and has been a sub in many classrooms for us!
