From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
May the blessings of God, our Father, be with each of you.
What a great Catholic Schools Week we had! Thank you, Home and School Association, for the fun event on Saturday night. It was sweet to see our families having fun with music. Thank you, Jason Luebbering and friends, for sharing your time and talent with us.
Calling off school yesterday because of icy conditions in and around school was made late on Monday night. I hope that all our families were safe. You should have received notification from Option C via text or email. It was also announced on the television stations and on our Facebook page. If you did not receive an Option C alert and should have, please call the school office and let us know so that we can check our database and make sure we have the correct information for contact. The school calendar had two snow days built in. One is being used on Friday, March 2 for the Fish Fry. Now that we have missed one day, then, both days have been used. If school misses any more, the calendar would need to be reviewed to determine how the loss of instructional time is made up.
The ordination and installation of our new bishop, Bishop McNight, was a very powerful educational event yesterday. Hopefully you and your family were able to view a portion of it. The students have been studying this historical and symbolic transition.
Midquarter reports are being sent home today with students. The progress you see is the same that can be viewed on Option C for grades 3-8. If you are monitoring your child’s progress, the grades should be familiar. If there is a question about your child’s grade, please contact the teacher who reported it. Third quarter, typically, is the most difficult for students and there is a tendency to see lower grades at this time of year.
On Monday, Feb. 12, there is a kindergarten meeting/registration event that begins at 6:30 here at school. This is for those who desire to be enrolled in our school for the 2018-2019 school year. Letters have been mailed to age eligible students (5 before Aug. 1, 2018) who are registered with St. Stanislaus Parish or St. Margaret’s Parish. Please help us get the word out to neighbors and other family members who may not be on these lists. Thanks for your help.
Registration for our current school families will begin next week, Feb. 14. Look for an announcement in the STAR.
Lent begins next Wednesday, Feb. 14. Students will attend mass on Wednesday at 8:00 and receive their ashes. St. Valentine’s parties will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13. May we all experience a very holy Lent.
May God continue to bless us in all that we do to build up His kingdom with hope and love.

2018-2019 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
St. Stanislaus School is excited to begin planning for the 2018-2019 school year!
Kindergarten Information/Registration
Monday, February 12 in Room 102 (use main school entrance)
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
This will be a short presentation about kindergarten designed for parents and guardians of eligible students. It is a great opportunity to check out the parish school and to do an early registration if you desire. We are happy to share with you how the school builds faith, promotes leadership, and encourages reading through the Super Kids program.
A child must be five years old before August 1, 2018 to be eligible to register.
Bringing copies of the following items will help complete the registration and speed up the process:
1. Baptismal Certificate
2. Immunization Record
3. Birth Certificate
4. Social Security Number* (It is not necessary to bring the SSN card, just know the number)
The kindergarten teacher and principal will be on hand to help you understand the value of Catholic education and to answer any questions you may have about kindergarten or about St. Stanislaus School.
If you know of a family who is interested in attending St. Stanislaus School, please pass on this information.
We are looking forward to adding your child to the newest class at St. Stanislaus School!
