Si vous êtes intéressés, veuillez imprimer et remplir le bon d’abonnement et le retourner à l’enseignant(e) de votre fils. Nous nous occuperons de les acheminer à Bayard jeunesse. Community Engagement: As the holiday season quickly approaches, many of us search for opportunities to help others in our surrounding communities. The focus of Community Engagement in the Elementary School this year is for projects and programs to have a strong educational component, grounded in SHS values and VERITAS, and most importantly be student-driven and led. Whether the boys are interested in organizing fundraisers, donations, drives, or collection projects, etc., they are encouraged to take initiative and ownership by sharing their ideas with the Community Engagement Squad in the Elementary School, and with Ms. Scholefield (4B Homeroom Teacher) or Ms. Segal (SHS Experiential and Community Coordinator) by filling out the Elementary School - Fundraisers and Events Google Form We look forward to another successful year of community engagement at Selwyn House!
Community Engagement ~ Movember: During the month of November, our mental health focus for the month, students will be participating in weekly “Friendship Challenges” to promote leadership and kindness in and outside of the school. Every Wednesday this month, boys will be involved in various acts of kindness in the classroom, the school yard and in the community. Below are the list of friendship challenges:
Meet someone new (student) and learn two things about them
Play nice in the school yard - do not push anyone around and include everyone in any schoolyard games.
Be kind to others in the schoolyard and in the hallway and encourage others to do the same
Sit next to someone new at lunch and spend time getting to know them
Covid Protocol Updates: On November 3, Quebec public health officials announced the removal of isolation periods from their Covid-19 protocols. The latest recommendations to limit the spread of respiratory infectious diseases can be found here.
If you have a fever or don't feel well, stay at home.
If you have any symptoms of respiratory infectious diseases, wear a mask until symptoms are gone. For your reference, Covid symptoms and tiers remain unchanged and can be found here.
At Selwyn House, we will continue to encourage good hand hygiene and supply masks for staff and students upon request.
The government will be providing rapid test kits in the month of November, which will be promptly distributed to students.
We ask our families to continue to communicate positive Covid test results with the school and to support mask-wearing when any symptoms are present in order to help us to best take care of our community.
We will continue to post all reported positive cases weekly on our Covid Corner website.
Pre-University (Grade 12) Information Evening: On Monday, December 5, we are hosting an in-person Pre-University (Grade 12) Information Evening from 7 - 8pm.
