Story Time with Miss Annie
Thursday, October 1, video 3 to 5 minutes length
Age Level: Preschoolers
Watch a weekly pre-recorded video with Miss Annie reading a story, offering suggestions for activities, and singing songs! New videos will be posted weekly on October 8, 15, 22, 29; November 5, 12, 19; and December 3 and December 10.
Thursday Facebook Live Preschool Story Time
Thursday, October 1, 11 a.m., Facebook Live
Age Level: Ages 3 to 5 years old
Join us on Facebook Live with your preschoolers for stories, finger plays, and songs! This program repeats on October 8, 15, 22, and 29; November 5, 12, and 19; December 3 and December 10.
Tuesday, October 6, 11 a.m., Facebook Live
Age Level: Infant to 3 years old
Join us on Facebook with your child, ages: infant to 3 years old, for stories, finger plays, and songs! This program repeats on October 13, 20, and 27; November 3, 10, and 17; and December 1 and December 8.
Children's Programs
Spooky Story Walk
Thursday, October 1 through Saturday, October 31, during library hours, Harmony Library and Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: All Ages
Visit both the Harmony Library and the Glocester Manton Library for a Halloween themed story walk! Follow the stations to read a Halloween story, and at the end, write your name in the guest book and receive a small prize!
October Storybook Crafts
Friday, October 2, through Saturday, October 31, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: All Ages
Note: Children under 3 years old may require caregiver assistance.
October Storybook Crafts will feature a surprise Halloween book, checked out on your library card, along with a real pumpkin! Decorate the pumpkin and return it to the library, when you return the book. Your pumpkin creation will be placed in our Scarecrow Festival Pumpkin patch! Note: Crafts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
October Harmony Crafts
Begins Monday, October 5, during library hours, Harmony Library
Age Level: All Ages
Crafts continue with a new craft each Monday at the Harmony Library! The crafts include:
- October 5: 3D Apple Story Book
- October 13: Foam Pumpkin Garland
- October 19: Eyeball Whirligig Toy
- October 26: Paper Spider Craft
Note: Crafts are on a first-come, first-served basis. Crafts at the two libraries are different.
October Learning Pick Up Crafts
Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 30, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 3 and up
Crafts can be fun and educational! In October, our crafts will include learning about what's inside a pumpkin, lacing and decorating a fun scarecrow, threading with some fun fall colors, and sprouting a corn cob!
Kids Virtual Halloween Bingo
Monday, October 19, 5 p.m., Zoom
Age Level: Ages 8 and up
Join Miss Kat on Zoom for Virtual Halloween Bingo! Once registered, visit the Harmony Library between October 13 and October 17, during library hours, to pick up your bingo card. If you win a prize, you can pick up your chosen prize at the Harmony Library between October 20 and October 24.
Weekly one hour virtual sessions, time to be determined by tutor availability
Bryant University with the Glocester Libraries is offering students in Grades 3 and up homework assistance as well as extra help with school subjects. This program is part of a Federal Work Study Agreement through Bryant University. Due to COVID-19, this program will be offered virtually for the 2020-2021 school year. Interested families should email nancysteereya@gmail.com at the Glocester Manton Library. Upon receipt of your email, you will be contacted by phone. Please include your primary contact phone number in your email. Note: Space is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

Teen Program
Beaded Braid Bracelet (DIY)
Monday, October 12 through Thursday, October 15, glocesterlibraries.org and Glocester Libraries’ YouTube Channel
Age Level: Grades 6 to 12
Pick up craft supplies at the Harmony Library to make your own beaded bracelet! You even get to pick out the color of your beads! Materials can be picked up between October 12 and October 15 during library hours. You can watch how to make it in a video available on our Glocester Libraries’ YouTube Channel.
Adult Programs
Glocester Libraries' Walking Club - Fall Super Walk
Wednesday, October 7, 8 a.m., Steere Hill Parking Lot (almost across from the Harmony Post Office)
With cooler temperatures, the Walking Club will hold its annual "Super Walk." We will start at Steere Hill Conservation area, follow the trail to Heritage Park, and return to Steere Hill, enjoying the soft pine paths of the Cutter and Phillips Farm trails. The "Super Walk" will be a little longer than the usual Walking Club outing - approximately 5 miles and 1-1/2 to 2 hours long.
Fearless Art Club
Wednesdays, October 14 and October 28, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
The Fearless Art Club resumes its monthly schedule on October 14. This art club is guided by the likes and interests of its members. In the past, we explored graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and watercolor. In October, we will discuss and plan our next art adventures for the coming months. Participation is limited for on-site programs in order to be compliant with CDC guidelines for gatherings. All supplies are provided. Please be sure to register.
Paper Crafted Fall Flower Bouquet
Tuesday, October 27, 6 p.m., and Wednesday, October 28, 11 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Adults and Teens 14+
Learn how to create a bouquet of colorful fall flowers out of heavy crepe paper just in time for the harvest season! Local artist Katie Steere will lead this free program. All materials will be provided.
