Report Cards and Semesters
As you may have read by now, the Ministry of Education is changing the trimester and reporting structure of the 2020-2021 academic year. Instead of three trimesters, there will be two semesters this year, each worth 50% of the final grade for the class. Report cards will be issued before January 22 and at the end of the school year. We will still issue a report in November and Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on November 19 & 20. The November report will be an interim report, not be a full report, but will give parents and students an indicator of progress to date in each class.
In Middle and Senior School, teachers post assessment scores in the gradebook of OnCampus, and we encourage students and parents to review this information regularly.
Paper.co
A reminder that students in the Senior School have access to paper.co, an online tutoring service that provides text-based access to live tutors in almost every subject. Students log in with their Selwyn House email account.
CEGEP Information Evening
On Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 pm, Mr. Lane and I will host a virtual CEGEP information evening. All Senior School parents and students are welcome as we look at students’ options after Selwyn House. I strongly encourage all Grade 11 parents and students to attend as Mr. Lane will provide an update on the CEGEP admission process. The zoom link for this event can also be found in the Post-Secondary Guidance section of this update.
