Book Bundle Bazaar
December 1 - 22, Library Hours, Glocester Manton Library and Harmony LIbrary
Are you looking for a special gift for a book lover? We have carefully selected and bound three books with a decorative holiday bow in many different genres including: mysteries, thrillers, biographies, fantasies, romances, and children books. Each genre bundle costs $5 and include hardcovers and paperbacks.
Holiday Wreath Sale
Monday, December 5 – Wednesday, December 21, Glocester Manton Library
Purchase a fresh balsam wreath, decorated with handmade bows, pine cones, and berries. Each wreath costs $20 with proceeds benefiting the Glocester Manton Library.
Candlelight Open House
Thursday, December 15, 5 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
The Glocester Manton Library invites you to celebrate the season at their annual Candlelight Open House. Create a variety of fun and tasty Christmas crafts or just warm up with a hot cup of cocoa, coffee, or tea, and a treat.
Children's Programs
Sew a Backpack!
Saturday, December 3, 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 8-12 Learn how to sew your own cinch backpack using an electric sewing machine! This program is limited to eight participants with four children at 10 a.m. and four children at 10:30 a.m. Materials are provided.
Online registration is not available for this class. Please register in-person at the Harmony Library. A materials' fee of $7 is due at registration.
New Year’s Cookies and Crafts
Tuesday, December 27, 4:30 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Ages: K-Grade 3 Get ready for New Year’s Eve with us. Children will visit three stations decorating cookies and making noise makers.
No-Sew Sock Snowman
Wednesday, December 28, 11a.m., Harmony Library
Craft a soft and cuddly snow-buddy using a variety of materials.
Tie-Dye Cupcakes
Thursday, December 29, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Harmony Library
Ages: Grades 1+ Combine bold and bright icing colors to decorate a homemade cupcake. Fun to make and fun to eat!
Big Ryan's Tall Tales
Friday, December 30, 11 a.m., Glocester Manton Library
Ages: 3-10 Join us for this special event! Children will listen to original stories, puppet play, a bit of music and movement, and a whole lot of fun!
Adult Programs
Cookbook Club
Monday, December 5, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Participants will use Fix-it and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook: 600 Slow Cooker Holiday Recipes by Phyllis Pellman Good for December’s meeting. Each person will prepare a dish for the group and then sample each other’s dishes while discussing the cooking experience.
Tuesday Movie Matinee
Tuesday, December 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Tuesday Movie Matinees offer new feature films on the big screen. Light refreshments are served. Bring a friend! Registration is not necessary. The movies include:

Wreath-Making Workshop
Friday, December 9, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
You can create a beautiful homemade wreath for a fraction of the cost of a store-bought wreath using the greens from your own backyard and a few holiday decorations! Please bring greens, decorations, and clippers. All other materials will be supplied. Seating is limited.
Holiday Glass Votive Painting Workshop
Monday, December 12, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Local artist Kim Belleavoine returns by popular demand! Kim will lead a workshop for adults and older teens on how to paint a delightful holiday scene on a glass votive candle holder. All materials will be provided. Seating is limited and advance registration is required. Materials' fee: $5
Holiday Table Centerpiece Workshop
Monday, December 19, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Learn how to create a lovely centerpiece for your holiday dinner table using fresh cut greens, a few floral supplies, and your imagination! Please bring greens, clippers, and any special holiday decorations. Seating is limited so register online soon.
Writing Groups

Writer's Circle
Tuesdays, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Join like-minded folks who wish to explore the art of writing. Each meeting will involve writing exercises to expand your writing skills.
Fiction Writers’ Group
Thursday, December 15, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Share short excerpts of your original work, participate in monthly exercises, and receive feedback from fellow writers. Writers are encouraged to attend one meeting to see if the group is a good match for their writing goals. This group, led by Writing Coach Pat Kenny, is open to adults, 21 years and older.
Writers’ Reading Group – New Group!
Wednesday, December 21, 2:30 p.m., Harmony Library
Novice writers are encouraged to attend this monthly meeting, read from their personal projects, and receive feedback from fellow writers. Coffee and tea will be available and writers are encouraged to bring snacks to share. This program is limited to ten adults, so register soon!

Sign up for instruction in the basics of computer use, email, and Internet searching. If you want to work on Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, including Word, PowerPoint, or basic Excel, let us know when you register.
