Student Leadership & Experiential Education
Echoes of a Proud Nation Pow Wow in Kahnawake - July 9-10 : Families and staff are encouraged to attend this summer’s Pow Wow in Kahnawake. As part of our commitment to learn more about Indigenous history and culture, this is a great opportunity to experience an event that is open to all! If you would like to join our SHS group, we will be meeting Wahiakatste Diome-Deer on Saturday, July 9 at noon to experience the Grand Entry together. Exact meeting location TBD. Please RSVP here if you are interested in joining us so we can communicate further details closer to the event.
Community Engagement - Summer Volunteer Opportunities: Summer is a great time to give back to your community. If you or your child are looking for volunteer opportunities in Montreal, please click here for a list of organizations that need your help.
Leadership Conferences for Next Year: Next year, we hope to have more opportunities for students to attend leadership conferences/camps as organizations begin to open up in-person events again. Information for these opportunities will be sent out at the start of the 2022-23 school year, and students will need to apply for the conferences. Currently, we are planning to take 12 students to the Ontario Student Leadership Conference (OSLC) in Niagara Falls, Ontario from November 6-8, 2022. This conference is open to Grades 9-11. There may also be an opportunity to attend a CAIS Student Leadership Conference in the spring for Grade 10 students.
