Mask Policy
Beginning in Fall 2021, masks will be required for all district staff and students in Grades Y5-12 at all times, indoor on school campuses except when eating or drinking. Masks will also be worn on school buses. Masks should fit snugly on the face and cover both the nose and mouth. Masks are required unless a documented medical exception is presented to administration.
Mask Policy Enforcement
Adherence to district mask policies will be strongly enforced by district administration.
Students who report to school without a mask will be provided with a disposable mask and will be asked to wear it at all times.
Parents will be notified by an administrator if a student refuses or shows a pattern of non-compliance over time. The student may be assigned to an alternative program for online at-home learning.
Safe and Healthy Students & Staff
Health Screening & Reporting
Staff or students who exhibit any COVID symptoms should stay home.
Handwashing & Personal Hygiene
Every classroom will be supplied with a fixed handwashing station or hand sanitizer.
Supplies (paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, tissues, trash receptacles) will be checked daily and restocked in the classroom.
Students will be instructed on:
How to cough and sneeze into their elbows, or to cover with a tissue, and dispose of it in the trash.
Proper handwashing.
PKE Attendance Line
Count Day - Wednesday, October 6th
It is always important for students to be in school, but October 6th is especially important as the funding our district receives to educate your child(ren) is based on the number of students in attendance on these count days each year. Students participating in distance learning have attendance taken each day (grades 3-5 on this date), so please make sure your child logins and participates in their daily meetings and online activities.
Walk To School Morning - Wednesday, October 6th
When: Wednesday, October 6th
Time: Meet at 7:45 a.m. with a departure time of 7:55 a.m.
Where: Gather together at the Salvation Army Parking Lot (6555 Sashabaw Rd.)
We will walk down the sidewalk towards Pine Knob Elementary. Our Oakland County Sheriff's Department will assist us with crossing Sashabaw Road to PKE.
It would be AWESOME to show some PKE SPIRIT by having the students make signs to carry along our walk!
Afterwards, the parents will need to walk back to your vehichle and can cross Sashabaw Road at the walking light near McLaren.
Fun Run Fundraiser!
We are so excited to be able to hold our annual Fun Run Fundraiser this year!
The running schedule will be shared out prior to October 15. Parents and other important people in your child(ren)'s lives are welcome to attend as this event will be held outdoors.
More information will be shared out as we get closer to October 15.
Clarkston Cross Country Elementary Race

Halloween Festivities

Due to our small classrooms and the limited number of individual in attendance we will not be allowing parents into the classroom parties this year.
Fall Weather
Breakfast and Lunch Provided
Clarkston Community Schools is committed to providing breakfast to all families who are in need and/or are interested in receiving it.
This year, in order to provide a safe and efficient way of distribution, a new method of delivery will be used. Please read the information below and then fill out the form if this is something you are interested in receiving.
Breakfast for Pine Knob Elementary will be sent home every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Tuesday's breakfast package will have meals intended for Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Thursday's breakfast package will have meals intended for Friday, Monday, and Tuesday mornings.
Additionally, Clarkston Community Schools will also be providing free lunch to all students. Please have your student make their lunch choices with their teachers each morning.
Student Plans of Care
If your student has a medical condition that may require school staff to administer medication or provide medical intervention according to doctor's orders, an annually updated 'Plan of Care' (signed by your student's physician) is required. Specifically, a 'Plan of Care' is needed to manage any of the following medical conditions; allergy, allergy-asthma, insect sting, seizures, diabetes, or to administer medications.
In cases where a student manages a condition as well as has medication(s) at school, they would need two plans of care on file (one for their medical condition and one for administering medications). Plans of care are available in the main office of our buildings, or can be found on the district website: click on 'Parents', then click on 'Plan of Care (Student Medications)' under 'Links and Downloads'.
