LVE Students Continue M.A.P. Testing
May has arrived and the students and staff at Lakeview have hit the ground running! We hope that you found an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and time with family and friends.
It’s hard to believe, but the end of the school year is just around the corner. It is important to maintain our momentum and focus throughout this final home stretch. Our teachers and students are diligently focusing on curriculum and grade level expectations to ensure that we finish the year strong. We appreciate all of your efforts in supporting this journey to excellence!
Lakeview students in grades 3-5 will continue their participation in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). MAP is one way we measure student achievement as well as measure our progress with curricular and state goals and standards. All students in grades 3, 4 and 5 are required to participate in this assessment.
The MAP Grade-Level Assessment will be administered online. Because of the transition to an on-line assessment, our MAP schedule/window will extend throughout the month May. Please refer to your child's classroom newsletter for information about your child's testing schedule.
Please help our students shine by making sure our students get plenty of rest each night and have a healthy breakfast each day. We also ask that you ensure that your child arrives to school each day on time and you avoid scheduling appointments during school hours. Finally, we ask that you talk to your child about doing their best on the test, but not to the extent that they are worried or stressed. This is not a test that students study for; it is a chance for them to show what they know!

LAKEVIEW HAS A HUGE HEART!
Thank you to our Lakeview Lions for their participation in this years Jump Rope for Heart. Lakeview raised $6,388 and potentially helped to save 128 lives! This is incredible and on behalf of The American Heart Association and the Lakeview staff, thank you for your contribution in helping to save lives!
Please know that almost all of these donations stay right here in Missouri for research, medicines and education of our # 1 and # 5 cause of death; heart disease and stroke.
SUMMER SCHOOL 2017
The Wentzville School District has a new Summer School Program for K-8 students called Summer Journey which is free of charge for our families. While all of the ambitious academic courses will be relaxed in format (no homework or tests for grades), Summer Journey will offer courses for hands-on exploration and discovery.
Summer Journey provides an incentive program for all students. At the end of the program, some lucky students will also win Grand Prizes that will be awarded on the final day, which include attendance recognitions.
We encourage you to take the time to review the enclosed information and consider registering your students for this educational opportunity. Registration is through the District website.
