Fundraising Update
Parents & Students,
I want to thank each of you for your efforts at our Fall Fundraiser! We had a great turn out! Please remember to mark your calendar for December 10th from 3:00-6:00pm. We have exceeded our goal and will know soon how much we have raised soon!
Fundraising prizes for students will come with the orders and will be packed with your fundraising items when you come over to pick them up on December 10th. I am working on scheduling the limo and pizza lunch and should know more when we get out totals! Cannot wait to share our overall total with you all! Thanks again for all your hard work!
Funds raised are going to PBIS incentive Celebrations, Grade level field trips, and supplies for Project Based Learning & Genius Hour Projects!

6th grade General Music

4th Grade Happenings!
Lit/S.S.- We are digging into theme this week, as well as continuing to work on inferences and figurative language.
Science- We are sharing out our skimmers this week. Next unit- ENERGY!!!
Math- We are starting a unit on geometry. The skills we are focusing on are arrays, perimeter and area. Please be looking for the family letter to be sent home soon!
5th Grade Happenings!
Math: We will be finishing unit 2 next week. Testing on Tues. Nov. 24th. Then a nice break for all. Gobble, gobble!
Lit./S.S: Students are learning how to summarize informational texts. In Social Studies we are learning about the Eastern Woodland Native Americans’ culture.
Science: We completed our vertebrate unit and tested. Next week, there will be a science and social studies show and tell presented by Mrs. Berglund.
Please make sure your child continues to read over break. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
6th Grade Happenings!
In science, students researched and shared information about a solar system topic that interested them. Next week, students will be making concept maps about matter. Our matter unit will start after Thanksgiving.
In math, students are working in small groups on a Thanksgiving project. Students have to use their reading, writing, and math skills to figure out Thanksgiving themed questions.
In reading we presented our Poetry Slams today! They were great! Next week we will be working on our Flag Essays for the Elk’s Club. Students will be writing about what the American Flag means to them. Have a great Thanksgiving!!
Music Mania
4th General Music
Students are learning how to articulate notes through the method of tonguing. Most students have successfully completed the first level of Recorder Karate piece, Hot Cross Buns. They are advancing to level 2 and 3 quickly.
5th General Music
Students looked at 2 part harmonic pieces. We will be shifting between the rhythmic and harmonic units.
6th General Music
Program preparation.
FCS
5th and 6th grade-We are covering nutrients, and my plate. They are learning the importance of good nutrition for everyone. We are getting ready for cooking which the students are very excited about.
Tech Lit & Media
Our 5th grade class has started working on making animations, using the website ABCYA. This week they made an animation out of their names. It was really great to see the different designs that they came up with.
The 4th and 6th grade classes are working really hard to get their Everfi requirements finished.

The holidays can be a highly stressful time for many families. Whether you are hosting a holiday party at your home, organizing travel with children, and/or trying to balance your everyday routine with additional holiday activities, it's helpful to prioritize your time, commitments, and family activities to help contribute to stress reduction.
Here are some tips and tricks for managing holiday stress, specific to busy parents, that allow for more time with your family.
Managing Your Time during the Holidays:
There's one thing that none of us can buy and that's time. We all wish we had more especially during the holiday season. What's the best way to manage your time during the holidays to reduce stress?
Assess how you're spending your time and prioritize those items most important to you.
Here are some tips for managing your holiday time for better stress management:
Make a list and check it twice. Think of the things that cause you the most stress during the holidays. Write them down, along with the level of stress they cause and how they affect you.

Enjoy your milk! Children 9 years of age and older should have 3 cups of milk per day according to the dietary guidelines. Calcium is essential for strong healthy bones. Calcium also plays a role in our nerves and muscles working properly. If a child does not consume enough calcium their body will pull calcium from the bones.
