Monday, January 18th
Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
We encourage you to engage in volunteer service in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
Cohort AM & Cohort PM
If you should have already been contacted by your grade level teacher about your student(s) cohort placement. If you have not, please email your teacher.
In-person instruction will look similar to what classroom instruction looked like before the COVID closure last spring. Our highly structured Spalding language arts and Saxon Math utilizes direct whole class instruction. Students are assigned seats which will be sanitized between the AM and PM sessions and in the evenings.
Zooms
Those students who elect to continue with remote learning will be expected to attend class via Zoom. Due to the intense nature of our instructional strategies, EACS Online will look a little different than what it currently looks like. While teachers will open Zoom sessions daily for students to attend, teachers will not be able to engage with students online while face-to-face in-person instruction is taking place at school. Students (parents) will need to contact teachers via email or text with specific questions about concepts or assignments.
Teachers will continue to upload assignments via Canvas and may also have paper packets available for pick up upon request.
At this time we are asking that those families electing to stay online do so for the duration of at least the entire 3rd quarter. Should your families circumstances change before then, please reach out to Mrs. Carroll.

- The PTO has a select supply of gently used uniforms to trade or purchased. Contact a Alysia Thayer at (303) 378-3097 or Tonya Prentiss at (719) 213-5678.
Face Masks
When we resume in-person instruction, all students, staff, and other adults entering the building will be required to wear face masks (disposable or cloth reusable).
Student face masks must match uniform colors (red, navy, baby blue, white, black, brown, and grey) and be solid (no patterns or designs).
Eagle Academy will provide each student with three reusable cloth face masks and one lanyard to secure masks to their person. We do recommend that you send your student to school with at least one extra face-mask in their backpack in case their mask becomes damp or soiled. We do have a descent supply of child sized disposable face masks, just in case.
Are you planning to travel during Spring Break?
- https://www.asdk12.org/Page/15687 (look for "travel restrictions")
Upon return from traveling out of state, there is currently a requirement to quarantine. The number of days is determined by what actions you take during your travel and after you return.
Principal Carroll is working with ASD and the APB to see what instructional options we can offer to families that comply with State and Municipal mandates regarding isolating and quarantining. More information regarding these options will be shared when details are finalized.
Our school picture coordinator, Jennifer Bundy has been working with Life Touch to schedule a school picture day for sometime this spring. She has tentatively secured Wednesday, February 10th as our school picture day. Please mark this special date on your calendars.
YEARBOOK
Hello All!
I am getting the yearbook set up, and wondered if there was anyone that wanted to help work on it this year? Things are kind of up in the air on how it will all work out, but hoping to do some brainstorming with those that might want to participate.
If you are interested or have questions, send me an email or a text. jeeperjoebundy@yahoo.com or (907) 884-5008.
Thanks, Jennifer Bundy
