Thank you.
Parent Pickup Reminder
Also, an important note about pick-up. Any student who is being picked up after school must be picked up in our parent pick-up loop. Asking your child to walk off campus to get picked up causes problems for the community and the private businesses that are in the neighborhood. We have a great relationship with all of our neighbors in the community, and we want to keep it this way. All parents are expected to follow the school procedure for student pick up by waiting patiently in the parent pickup loop after school.
Thank you for your attention to these important matters.
Snowbirds are here!!
Thank you for your attention to this increasing problem of school tardies.

AAA Academy Tutoring Sessions
Did you know there is free academic tutoring available each morning at MSA? That is correct! The members of the High School Advanced Academic Academy provide free academic tutoring each morning starting at 8:30 am. If your student needs additional academic support, this is a great opportunity for one-on-one help from our advanced high school students.
Students who would like to participate need to check in each morning with Ms. Izzo or Ms. Edwards in the cafeteria and then proceed to the appropriate classroom. Once they arrive at the classroom, they will sign in and begin working.
This is an excellent opportunity if your student is struggling academically. We have some amazing young adults who are ready and willing to help!
Please see the schedule of tutoring classrooms below.

6th Grade Showcase Information
Every semester, the 6th grade students put on a showcase at MSA for parents, family, and friends to celebrate all that they have accomplished. This semester we will not only be presenting dance routines, but we will also be incorporating musical theater pieces as well! The students work extremely hard for a majority of the semester on creating a piece that they are proud to share with a live audience. This semester's show is entitled "Lion King Kids."
What will their costume be for the show? Great question! Semester 1 dance students need to wear their Black MSA Dance Pants and their NEW SHOW SHIRT. Semester 1 theater students will wear khaki shorts/pants and their show shirt. The show shirt will be ordered by your child’s teacher. The cost of the shirt is $10. Please turn your $10 t-shirt fee in by NOVEMBER 8th to your child's dance/theater teacher. Wearing a SHOW SHIRT helps the student feel like it is a special performance. After the showcase, the students can wear their SHOW SHIRT as a Friday shirt to school. Be sure your performer packs their costume in their backpack or in a separate dance bag the day of the show so they can change into their costume after school. Be sure to write your child's name in the tag of their shirt/pants.
SAVE THE DATES FOR THE 6TH GRADE SHOWCASE:

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17TH 6:00pm & 7:30pm

***Bateristas, Inferno - Students perform in both shows both evenings
This is a MANDATORY performance for all sixth graders. This is the culminating activity for the 6th grade dancers/theater students, and it is a wonderful experience and opportunity. Please make every effort to arrange and provide their transportation from the performance, and help them to be prepared with their pants and their SHOW SHIRT.
The show run time for each performance is approximately 45 minutes. Students will stay after school until their shows are over. Parent pick up time each evening is 8:15pm. Dinner will be provided for the performers free of charge immediately after school on this day. Concession and good luck notes for performers will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the 6th grade team.
Tickets for the showcase will be available the week of the show during 6th grade lunch, and can be purchased from Ms. Castner or Mr. Bajjaly, or at the door if any are still available. Each ticket is $5.00. Please send money in an envelope with your child’s name on it and number of tickets needed. THESE SHOWS SELL OUT!! We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Children two and under sitting on your lap will not need a ticket. 6th grade performers do not need a ticket for the show they are dancing in, but if they choose to watch a show they are not performing in, they will need to purchase a ticket.
After the show, students will be seated at cafeteria tables by class. Please line up at your child's table to sign your dancer out after the performance has concluded. Dancers are not permitted to leave until this time for security measures.
We are so excited and looking forward to a wonderful performance!

Cooler Weather Coming
Please remember that as the weather gets colder, the uniform policy still is in effect and enforced.
Please note the following items:
• ONLY MSA sweatshirts/jackets are allowed inside the secured areas during the school day
• Shirts worn under uniform shirts must be a solid color
• Students may not wear gloves, scarves, or hats during the school day. Leg warmers may only be worn below the knee.
Students must wear ONLY MSA uniform apparel while at school. This is for the safety and security of all out students while they are at school.
New - MSA Outerwear Letterman Jackets
As you know, for increased security on campus, MSA does not allow any non-uniform clothing in secured areas. For students who are interested, we now have available MSA Letterman Jackets that can be ordered and customized with your child's name on them.
There are middle school and high school jackets, so make sure to click on the correct one as you order. Sample jackets are displayed in the school store, but all jackets must be ordered thorough our uniform partner, Manatee Appareal Graphics.
If you have any questions, please contact our school store.
