Endorsements
WHAT IS AN ENDORSEMENT?
An endorsement is a series of High School courses that are related to interests or career goals your student has. Some compare an endorsement to a college major in that it is an area of focus for your student during High School. Endorsements are taken as electives and do not change the required core courses that your student will need to fulfill graduation requirements. Your student will earn at least one endorsement as part of their graduation requirements.
All 8th grade students select an endorsement they are interested in before beginning High School.
Students are able to choose from the following 5 endorsement areas:
Arts & Humanities
Business & Industry
Multidisciplinary
Public Service
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Multidisciplinary
Is your student unsure of what career they want to pursue or have multiple areas of interest?
The Multidisciplinary endorsement allows them to explore more than one career path and keep their options flexible. Some occupations require a skill set that falls into multiple endorsements. Nurses, for example, are listed in Public Service, but also require courses from a STEM background for the science component.
So if they are still deciding, a Multidisciplinary endorsement may be the best fit for them.
