PRAIRIE POST
October 19, 2018
Message from the Principal
Hello, Parent and Guardians of the Pawsome Pumas,
We've had another great week here at Prairie and ended the week with a wonderful concert from the Les Paul Middle School band. We thank you for coming out to our first night of conferences last night. We continue with the second night of conferences on Tuesday , October 23rd. We want to thank our PTA for providing dinner for our staff as well.
Our 5th graders had great success at the District's 5th grade Country Country Run. Thanks to our coaches, Mr. Booth and Mrs. Anderson, for the time they spent practicing for the run with this group. More information and pictures are shown below.
The annual Mix it Up at lunch was again a huge success on Tuesday. Be sure to ask your children about this fun event.
We've been celebrating the Brewers progress with spirit days and have moved from integrity to self control with our PBIS daily celebrations. More info to follow soon.
Thanks for your continued support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Grade 5 Cross Country Run
Breaking News…
Our 5th grade Cross Country runners were PAWSOME at the 44th annual 5th Grade Run, on Wednesday, October 18th!
Congratulations to all of our 5th grade runners who completed the 1-¼ mile run last night at West High School. These athletes not only ran in the race, but they attended many practices to prepare for the race.
There were many great individual performances and both our girls team and boys team placed 2nd in their divisions! Not only were Coach Booth and Coach Anderson proud of the runner's effort at the race, but these athletes also demonstrated great sportsmanship and leadership throughout the season.
Christmas Clearing Council
It is the time of year to distribute Christmas Clearing Council applications! For those who do not know, the Christmas Clearing Council (CCC) helps provide Christmas gifts for families who may not otherwise be able to afford gifts for their children. It is an awesome program that many families utilize each year. There are a few qualifications: you must be a Waukesha County resident AND your child must be eligible for Free/Reduced Lunch and/or meet the household income eligibility requirements. Please feel free to fill out the application (one per family), and send back to the office so we can verify eligibility. Applications are DUE November 21, 2018.

You can also find paper copies of the application in the Prairie Office.
Health Room News
As a reminder, ANY medication (including cough drops) must have paperwork on file in the Health Room. All medications must be dropped off and picked up by parents.

Art to Remember
Greetings from the Art Room.
This year's Art To Remember Fundraiser is off to a great start! Student's are finishing up their PAWSOME creations and I have been hard at work labeling each and every one of them. This will allow for parents to get a personalized order form with their child's work featured on it. You should see these order forms in your child's backpack near the end of October.
Order forms are due: November 2nd, to ensure delivery of items before the holidays. (Just think, all your Holiday shopping could be done without ever trying to find a parking spot at the mall!)
