First Grade Spotlight
First graders have been very busy this month! We finished up our Science unit on Air & Weather with a field trip to the Planetarium, where we learned about the stars, planets, and the night sky.
In math, we have been learning more about how to use the Rekenrek math tool to help us work with numbers.
In reading, we have been working on picking "just right" books and being able to retell the story after reading. Finally, we have also been working hard to show the Hadfield Way in all areas of our school!

November Digital Citizenship
This month, our Digital Citizenship curriculum will focus on what it means to be a good Digital Citizen. You teach your children to be good citizens in their school and community, by respecting other people and property, being responsible and making their surroundings safe and better places. Now, we need to teach our students to do these things in the online world as well.
A good Digital Citizen looks for the best content online, by visiting safe, educational websites. They look for the best contact online, by never sharing personal information with others, and by being aware that there are online predators. And they use the best conduct online, by being kind to others online and respecting others’ intellectual property online.
Please encourage this online behavior with your children.
Do you have a child that will be 4 or 5 years old by September 1, 2017?
