EEF Scholarship Awards
Congratulations to Ian Armstrong and Julia Folmar for receiving the Elizabeth Education Foundation (EEF) scholarship. EEF is a Colorado nonprofit corporation that supports the Elizabeth School District teachers, students, and community. Annually, the EEF awards two scholarships to seniors that portray personal characteristics caring about family, school, and the community.
Ian Armstong will soon attend the University of Kansas. He has donated over 300 hours in the Family Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), along with leading numerous events such as Hunter's Legacy Tournament, St. Baldrick's, the Teacher Cadet program, leadership conferences, the 5th-Grade Community Challenge, and the summer care program for Singing Hills. In addition, Ian has mentored FCCLA students, volunteered at Singing Hills Kids Club, and earned a gold medal in the Colorado Front of the House event.
Julia Folmar will attend the nursing program at Regis University. She has volunteered since middle school in her church nursery, making blankets for the NICU at Rose Medical Center, student council, road clean up, the Flight Crew program, 5th-grade community challenge, Rise Against Hunger campaign, AFSP Suicide Prevention Walk, Big Help Day, and various food and book drives. Julia also earned a Varsity Athletic Award, CHSSA Academic Letter, and Academic All-State Team Award.
Congratulations Retirees!

Graduation Will Commence!
In-person, student-only commencement exercises were officially approved by Elbert County Commissioners for graduates of Elizabeth High School (June 6, 9:30am) and Frontier High School (May 29, 10am). They will be held outdoors on the fields at each school.
The school district appreciates the support of Dwayne Smith at Elbert County Public Health and Elbert County Board of Health in developing and approving these in-person events. The events are planned to minimize risks associated with the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus and require various social distancing measures. The Elizabeth High School graduation will be live streamed in real time (via ESD's YouTube channel) and the Frontier High School graduation will allow one car per family to view the event from their car, next to the field, on Dale Court.
Both graduation ceremonies will feature student speakers (valedictorians at Elizabeth High School and every graduate at Frontier High School). Additionally, graduates who have earned significant recognitions will be honored and all graduates will walk across the stage to be congratulated and professionally photographed in their cap and gown, holding their diploma cover. More information will be provided to graduates and their families soon.
[Elizabeth Middle School will hold their 'Moving Up' Ceremony for 8th grade students on Saturday, June 6, at 11:30am, also at the EHS Athletic Stadium/Field]
