MSA Parent Update
May 15, 2019
Congratulations to the Class of 2019
On Monday, everyone at MSA bid farewell to the class of 2019. The night was filled with smiles, cheers and tears, as our students begin to spread their wings and reach out to new adventures in their lives. From college to the military, work to fun, the class of 2019 will achieve great things. We are so proud of them!!
The class of 2019 is also MSA's largest graduating class, with well over half of them being ORIGINALS or students who started at MSA as 6th grade students and made it through to graduation.
No matter where the road leads them, where their future takes them, we are confident that they have the skills and knowledge to be all they can be. With every graduating class, everyone at MSA has mixed emotions. These students have been a part of our lives for so long. We are glad to see them go and take on the world, but sad to see them leave at the same time.
Good luck, class of 2019!! You will always be a part of our MSA Family.
Last Day of School - May 30, 2019
It has been a year of exciting events, amazing performances both on the stage and in the classroom, and great representations in local, statewide and national competitions. We are so proud of the work our students have done this year, and we look forward to next year!!
May 30th will be an early release day at MSA. We will be dismissing all students at 1:30.
An important note, backpacks are not allowed on the last day of school. Please do not send your child to school with a backpack on May 30th. Backpacks brought to school will be confiscated in the morning and returned after school if a student brings a backpack to school.
MSA dismisses early ONLY on the last day of school.
Please contact us if you have any questions... thanks!!

Mark Your Calendars - August 2019
Attention Thespian Parents
Please mark your calendars for Saturday May 18th @ 2:00 PM
Both Thespian classes have been working on creating mini musicals. They have worked
very hard, even composing music- rewriting lyrics-choreographing dances, and have done some really good work.
On that Saturday, we need to have students at school by 1:00 and we will start plays at
2:00. More on the schedule as plays are completed and we have accurate times. After the plays we will have a short break for kids to change into dress clothes and we will do Induction/Awards ceremony. More details to follow.
Uniforms
Whether you outgrew your uniform shirts or bottoms, or you have graduated or moved from Middle School to High School, we appreciate any uniforms that are donated to the school. Your generosity assists others greatly.

Parent Pickup Reminders
The entrance of Riviera Dunes, the bank, rehab center, the furniture store or the Courtney are not places that students may be picked up at the end of the day.
We have great relationships with our neighbors and we can't interfere with their businesses or the daily function of their clients. All surrounding businesses have been advised to call local law enforcement if they continue to have problems with parents picking up on their property.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

ATTENTION 6TH GRADE STUDENTS - SHOT UPDATES REQUIRED BEFORE STARTING 7TH GRADE
The State of Florida requires proof of immunization for all students entering 7th grade each year. This proof must be on the official State of Florida Immunization Form (DH680... the Blue Card) which is obtained from your doctor's office or the Health Department. The following immunizations must be documented on this form:
* Tetanus, Diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) - This is the update shot that you need for 7th Grade.
* Hepatitis B vaccine series
* Varicella vaccine or the year of disease
* Two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
Please see your doctor or the Health Department for more information and to assure that your child has met these requirements. This documentation must be submitted to the school before the first day of school next year (August 13). Students will not be allowed to come to school until these shot requirements are met. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
