Better Together
News from the Clarke County School District • 10/8/21
Every year, the Clarke County School District honors the hard-working professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our schools and workplaces are spotless, sanitary, and fully stocked: Our magnificent custodians!
CCSD’s Custodian Appreciation Week follows National Custodian Workers Recognition Day on October 2 annually. It’s all about celebrating their immeasurable contributions as they consistently deliver outstanding attention to detail in running well-maintained buildings. No question, their professionalism contributes greatly to the first impressions of anyone walking through our front doors.
Day after day, our schools look organized and presentable because of the tireless work of our custodial workers as they keep everything in tiptop condition! Please don’t forget to say, “Thank You!” for everything they do to support our students, staff, and families!

Support ACCA's "Career Closet"
The Athens Community Career Academy's "Career Closet" is a resource for CCSD students to "shop" (free of charge) for business-appropriate clothing. Having the appropriate attire for career fairs, internships, and job interviews instills confidence and enable our students to focus on the task at hand instead of worrying about borrowing or buying clothing.
The United Way's "Days of Caring" campaign solicits volunteers to help collect new or gently used clothing. Sign up here (by Wednesday, October 13).

- The one-penny sales tax is paid by all who shop, stay, dine or receive services in Clarke County, including outside visitors (almost 60% is paid by people who visit Athens).
