Magnet Theme Integration Nuts & Bolts
- I will probably be walking in and out of your classrooms and PLT meetings. This is not evaluative at all! I'm excited to see the teaching and learning in action. Please email me to let me know when you are doing something particularly exciting!!
- Please share examples of your magnet theme integration to tchinton@wcpss.net. This could be a lesson plans, resources, links, or larger examples such as projects. Show off your great ideas!! Thanks!!

Magnet happenings- what is new?
- Big snazzy 4 ft x 8 ft acrylic sign with an explanation of our magnet theme. Luna's student Savannah Deaver created the sign!
- Athens Drive HS ambulance is getting ready for business!! Luna's student Effrain made the design! It will also be outfitted for use as a stationary lab for HSA classes.
- The downstairs around 1800 has 2 gorgeous collaborative spaces. Lockers were removed and snazzy furniture and teaching tools was added. Those blue and orange boards are dry erase! Feel free to bring your classes down to use it!
- The fitness center is up and running in room 1034! Go enjoy it! There will be much more detail about the room and wellness at Athens Drive next week!!
- Virtual Reality lab will start construction any day now. We hope to have the lab up and running very soon. I will keep you posted!!!

Free Professional Development- Participate (formerly VIF) offers a giant database of online courses for teachers. Whether you want to learn about inquiry based learning, UN global goals, or dive deeper into climate action, this is your place! (Some PD is at a cost, but there is a bunch of good free stuff!
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Speaker's Bureau- There are several great topics they can bring into your classroom. Check it out!
Free (ish) NC Museum of History- History in a Box Ok- you have to pay shipping (or pick it up for free at the Museum). You get a giant tub of goodies, though!
