Cabrillo Tidepools Pictures
Mrs. Becerra facilitated this trip to the Cabrillo tidepools for grades 3-6 to learn about the variety of life in the rocky intertidal zones.
Thank you to Mrs. Niki Ahrens for sending in these pictures!
"Les Miserables"
Mt. Everest families that attended the "Les Miserables" performance had an awesome time! In the pictures below, our very own Brendan D., playing the role of Enjolras, is wearing a red vest and holding a rifle. Sign up for the next JCompany production, "Beauty and the Beast," on March 2!
Thank you to Mrs. Rachel Finney for sending in these pictures!
Braille Institute Tour
A great thank you to everyone who came on the Braille Institute field trip with us on Friday the 12th of January! It was amazing! Students learned about all of the adaptive technology available for vision impaired individuals. From helping individuals tell the color of their clothes, to “reading their Facebook” to them,-technology in the past year has exploded for those with vision issues. We also learned how to cook, walk with a cane and sign our names on a sheet of paper-all while being blind. Everything at the Braille Institute is free to the vision impaired and the institute is always looking for volunteers to help bring services to those in need. We were grateful for such an educational experience.
Picture below of pouring and cooking at the Braille Institute.
Thank you to Ms. Barb Mulvany for sending in this picture!
Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
On January 15, Martin Luther King Day honored Dr. King's legacy, as he dedicated his life to the nonviolent struggle for racial equality in the United States. Dr. King saw himself as a servant of humanity, and he wanted his life to be remembered as a life of service to others.
"Sooner of later, all the people of the world will have to discover a way to live together."
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In Elementary Art with Mrs. Flo, students created this artwork inspired by Dr. King.
