Book Bundle Fundraiser

Gently used books, bundled by genre and popular authors, are gift wrapped and ready for your favorite reader, at the Harmony Library's Book Bundle Fundraiser. Your donation of $5 per bundle helps support Harmony Library programs.

Glocester Libraries’ Candlelight Open House
Thursday, December 5, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
‘Tis December in old Glocester town and everybody is busy rushing around! The books are displayed at the library with care in the hopes that patrons soon will be there. Come, families! Come, friends! Come reindeer, too! We’re celebrating the candlelight season and have sweet treats, hot cocoa, crafts, and a Bauble and Bling Fundraiser just for you!
Children's Programs
Drop-in Craft: Christmas Crafts
Monday, December 2 through Monday, December 23, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 5 and up (younger children with caregiver assistance)
Christmas crafts will be the December drop-in theme in our Children’s Room. Each week, children can make a different craft including a jingle bell necklace and a candy cane.
Candy Cane Hunt
Monday, December 2 through Monday, December 23, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 5 and up (younger children at caregiver’s discretion)
Visit our Children’s Room during December and join the hunt for candy canes! Candy canes will be hiding in many different places, and children can use their sleuthing skills to find the candy canes. You will receive an actual candy cane treat to bring home and enjoy, **One per visit, please
Christmas Story Time and Hot Cocoa
Monday, December 2, 5:30 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Children of all ages
Local author and storyteller Cheryl Dickinson will get you into the Christmas spirit with a good story, as well as a short reading from her picture book, The Little Farmhouse Inn: A Christmas Story. Following the reading, children and families are welcome to refreshments like hot cocoa, cider, vanilla and gingerbread cakes. Coloring pages and a Christmas craft will also be available. Copies of Dickinson’s books will be available to purchase as a great Christmas gift.
Paws To Read
Tuesday, December 3, 15 minutes reading slots: 5 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 5:45 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Independent readers, Ages 5 and up
Read to a dog! Practice reading with a therapy dog who loves to listen! Bring your favorite book or come early and choose a book from our library collection.
Christmas Cookie Decorating

Drop by the Glocester Manton Library to decorate some pre-baked Christmas cookies! All materials will be provided, just bring your holiday cheer!
Hot Wheels LJL Race Club

Race your Hot Wheels cars on the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club’s 20+ foot-long race track! Participants may bring their own Hot Wheels cars, or the club will provide race cars. Note: Everyone will go home with a free, new Hot Wheels car!
Kids Paint Night

Rubber Band Creations

Age Level: Grades 4 and up
Make your own rubber band bracelets! Participants will create bracelets, necklaces, or even key chains using colorful rubber bands.
Adult Programs
Mac’ and Beads!
Monday, December 2 and January 6, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Learn fundamental knots of macramé for making bracelets, and jazz it up by adding beads or charms. You will love to wear them or give them to friends and family. All supplies are provided.
Holiday Wreath Workshop
Monday, December 2, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
This annual program is best described as a good old-fashioned wreath-making gathering. Learn how to hand-tie a holiday wreath with the greens that you collect in your own yard. Please bring clippers, gloves, special decorations, and fresh cut greens.
Cookbook Club

Our theme for December is holiday cooking Participants can choose between two cookbooks by Diane Phillips: Happy Holidays from the Diva of Do-Ahead OR Perfect Party Food. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register online at glocesterlibraries.org and then drop by the Harmony Library to pick up a copy of the book.
Tuesday Movie Matinee

Holiday Wine Glass Painting

Adults and teens (14+) will learn how to paint holiday-themed designs on a wine glass. No special skills are required for this free program.
Holiday Napkin Luminaries
Monday, December 9, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Note: This program is suitable for adults and teens (14+)
Join us for this quick and easy craft session. Using just mod podge, a napkin, and a paintbrush, participants will create a beautiful luminary on glassware that will spruce up their holiday décor. No special skills are needed, and all materials are provided for this free program.
Fearless Art Club
Wednesday, December 4 and December 11, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
This art club is guided by the likes and interests of its members. In the past, we have enjoyed graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and watercolor. Traditionally, the months of November and December are set aside for linocut printmaking. All supplies are provided.
Crochet Group
Monday, December 16, 6:30 p.m., Harmony Library
Do you enjoy crocheting but wish you had some company while you were working? Are you a total beginner who is looking to learn this craft? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Harmony Library Crochet Group is for you. Beginners are provided with crochet hooks and yarn scraps to practice. More experienced crocheters should bring their own materials.
Salt Shaker Snowmen
Tuesday, December 17, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Local artist Katie Steere will lead this workshop for adults and teens (14+). Participants will learn how to make a whimsical snowman out of a salt shaker, just in time for holiday decorating.
Evergreen Centerpiece Workshop
Wednesday, December 18, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Create a fresh and fragrant evergreen centerpiece that will last until Christmas with proper care. Bring your own clippers, fresh cut greens, gardening gloves, and any special ornaments. Floral foam, container, tapered candles, and some ornaments will be supplied.
