*6th and 7th grade will be going to Helias on Tuesday afternoon to hear the awarding winning author Roland Smith
*Friday the 11th is the end of the 1st Quarter
*Dress down on the 11th
*We will participate in an outdoor rosary led by Student Council on the 11th as part of the Diocesan Rosary Congress
*Fall supper is on the 13th at St. Stanislaus (11:00 am to 6:00 pm)
*No school on Monday, the 14th (Professional Development for teachers)
The Iowa Test of Basic Skills will begin on Monday, the 7th of October for grades 3-8. The test runs all week. Please be sure your student is well rested and fed. It is VERY important that all students are at school, if at all possible. Please find the sheet with testing tips in your oldest student’s folder this evening.
As field trips and classroom parties begin, please keep in mind that the Diocese requires all parents, grandparents, and volunteers to be Virtus trained. The following link will take you to the registration page for Virtus traininig. Virtus training can be done in a seated class or on-line (both options require preregistration). Thank you for helping ensure safety for all students! The link is, www.virtusonline.org.
Attached you will find a link for an After School Care survey. If you do not use ASC, please take a moment to fill out this SHORT survey (there are 6 questions). Thank you!!!

It is that time of year again! Boxes of Joy are available to go home starting on Friday. Each class will fill two boxes, one for a girl and one for a boy, according to their age group. There are additional boxes for families to fill as well. Each box that is taken should be filled with items for a child (there is an idea sheet that will come home). There is also a $9.00 fee per box for postage and medical costs (instructions will be included). Thank you for your generosity! These boxes provide Christmas for children all over the world that would otherwise not receive Christmas gifts.
*Boxes of Joy begin on Friday and are due back by Oct. 30th.
I hope everyone has settled into the school routine and is feeling happy with the year and the promise of a great year ahead!!!
Blessings,

parent/teacher conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 17th from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Again this year the school is asking parents to sign up for a conference slot by using Option C, our online management system. The system will open on Oct. 1st for parents to schedule a conference and will close Oct. 11th. Log on using your parent username & password to Option C. Click on the icon that appears on your home page for Conferences and follow directions.
In addition to visiting with your child’s homeroom teacher, you may desire to conference with other teachers who also teach your child. Special Teachers are also available and you can sign up to see them as well. Special Teachers include: Stephanie Loethen, Pamela Stumpe, Kathy Rackers, Laura Rudolph and Patty Gibbons.
Please contact the school office (not the classroom teacher) 636-7802, if you need assistance.
Help Wanted for Scrip:
Scrip Committee is looking for more volunteers to sell scrip after weekend masses. St Stanislaus sells the 1st, 3rd, and 5th (if there is a 5th) full weekends of each month January – October and every weekend November & December. St Margaret’s sells on the 2nd and 4th weekends. Depending on the number of volunteers, it would be 20-30 minute commitment, 1-2 weekends a month. If you are interested, please email scrip@ststan.net or contact Emily Bailey via call/text 573-645-0279. Thank you so much for your consideration.
