“Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy!” St. Augustine
Holy moments? Have you heard about this from your child(ren)? As a school Advent project, students and staff are invited to “look” for and “name” holy moments. These moments are captured by writing them on a strip of pink or purple paper. These strips will be chained together to decorate the hallways as a sign of holiness in our school.
Holy Moments: those quiet actions or encouraging words done in good faith that show the love of Jesus
Examples: I saw Mrs. Rackers help a hurt student at recess.
I saw Bobby give Susie a clean sheet of paper when she had none.
I heard Margie tell Henry he did a good job on his art project.
Let us open our eyes to the light of Christ by looking for genuine examples of Holy Moments. It would be great if the children would share verbally in your home about this experience and what they have observed.
Hopefully, each day we will see the chain grow as we open our eyes to the wonders of the season and the Holy Moments that God provides for us! This would be an easy activity to do at home, too.
Congratulations to the Falcons on their state championship! Thanks to all for making our early dismissal last Friday a smooth event. Thanks for your patience in the carline. Thanks to those parents who came to volunteer in the After School Care program. Thanks to the cafeteria staff who were able to prepare and serve sack lunches in such an efficient manner. Thanks to the teachers who made themselves available to help.
Christmas Concert is coming! The students look forward to sharing their holiday spirit with you on Thursday, Dec. 6. There are two concerts: 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Dress code for the 1:30 performance is the school uniform. Dress code for the evening performance is tan pants (school pants will work) and white shirts (school shirts may be worn) and holiday accents: holiday scarves, Santa hats, ribbons, etc. Avoid those items that would be distracting or block the vision of students i.e. tall holiday hats, blinking lights, musical accents.
The bleachers are reserved for students - all other guests are invited to sit in the chairs. Students are expected to be at school by 6:20pm.
