PRAIRIE POST
May 21, 2018
Message from the Principal
The educators at Prairie are looking forward to next year. At the last PTA meeting, several educators attended and shared their excitement to team teach with their colleagues for the 2018-1019 school year. Check out the PTA FaceBook page to see what the staff has to say. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
With this shift, the typical homeroom assignments will be different. If you are interested in having a scholar assigned to a particular homeroom, please email me this information prior to Wednesday, May 30th. I can not guarantee the placement of any scholar in any particular homeroom. However, we will take all recommendations into consideration.
Literacy Night will take place on Tuesday, May 29th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This year, our School Musicals for Grades 1-4 will take place on Wednesday, May 30th from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Doors will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance (9:00 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.). Mrs. Wirth is excited to share what our scholars have learned in music this year.
This Tuesday, Prairie will have the honor of having former Pumas that are ready to graduate from Waukesha West to come and don their caps and gowns for the student body. This is the very reason we began the creation of our Legacy Trees last year. We look forward to supporting all of our Pumas on their educational journey and returning to share their accomplishments when they graduate from high school and college.
The 5th Grade Celebration will take place on Tuesday, June 5th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. We will unveil the second Legacy Tree, have a display of Academic Excellence, and have our scholars walk across the stage as a bridge into middle school. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
