Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences are set for the dates and times listed below:
Monday, February 18th from 4:00 - 7:30 pm
Thursday, February 21st from 4:00 - 7:30 pm
The registration window to schedule a conference was February 4th through February 14th. If you missed this window, please call the office as soon as possible to schedule. Parents are able to schedule a 15 minute time slot with their classroom teacher. Art, Music and PE staff members are also available for a separate 15 minute time slot if desired.
Book Fair and Grand Event
The Grand Event is back on Wednesday, February 20th from 7:30 am-8:30 am in the gym. Students can bring their grandparent(s) or that special someone to the event! All students attending must be accompanied by an adult. Complimentary beverages provided. Information was sent via email!

Please plan on attending our fair to help us put more books in the hands of our students at school and Forest Glen families at home, by connecting kids with books they want to read! All profit dollars earned from the book fair benefit Forest Glen by providing our students and teachers with opportunities to use those dollars to purchase books and build classroom libraries.
This Month's Third Thursday Fundraiser Will Be At Zesty's!
The Forest Glen PTO would like to thank Zesty’s for supporting our 3rd Thursday Fundraiser on February 21st from 4-8 pm. Please present the flyer and a percentage of your purchase will be donated back to Forest Glen! Flyers were also sent home with your student this week.
Memory Book Cover Contest Winner
School Wide Food Drive
Our 4th Graders are hosting a school wide food drive to benefit the Giving Tree Pantry that will kick off Monday, February 18th and continue through March 15th. This will give 4th graders an opportunity to take a field trip to the pantry to learn about the operation of the pantry, the effect it has on our community, and to help organize and stock the shelves. The class with the most donations will receive an ice cream sundae party!

Volunteer Still Needed!
Planning Ahead: Lineville Intermediate School Class Choices
In March, fourth graders and their parents will learn about the music class options at Lineville: band, chorus, and orchestra. A music class selection for fifth grade must be made by the end of March. In addition, course descriptions will be provided for several other fifth grade classes, and parents will be able to indicate their preferences. Course descriptions and registration information will be available on March 13th and the registration must be completed within two weeks following.

18-19 Year-Round Update process for parents to update family information online
To update the primary mailing name, mother/father/guardian info, contact phone number, address, and emergency contact info, please complete the following steps:
1. Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal (using a browser not the app).
2. Once in the portal, choose the appropriate student (changes will need to be done for each child listed in the account).
3. Select Year-Round Update on the left side under navigation.
(This will take a couple seconds to populate the information that is currently in PowerSchool.)
4. Once the student information is populated, you are free to change the appropriate information such as primary mailing name, contact #, address, mother/father/guardian information, and emergency contact information. Be sure to click submit.
Please Update Your Volunteer Page
If your child has changed school buildings, you wish to volunteer at more schools, or you need to remove yourself from a school, please update your volunteer status. Log in at www.myvolunteerpage.com to ensure that your profile is accurate and to find new volunteering opportunities!
Student Information Updates/School Fees
If you have not yet remitted payment for your child's annual fees, you may do so online using the Student Quick Pay feature on the district's website. You may pay fees for all of your children who attend the Howard-Suamico School District. You will need to know your child's Student I.D. number. Student IDs were listed on your child's placement email. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, you can remit payment to school with your child. The 2018-2019 school fees are as follows: Grades K-4: $20.00 Textbook Rental Fee. An additional $35.00 Technology Insurance Fee applies only to 3rd and 4th grade.

Forest Glen PTO has partnered with several businesses in the area to bring you regularly scheduled fundraising opportunities throughout the year. On the third Thursday of each month, a local business has offered to support Forest Glen with a fundraising event. When you order from that month’s business, mention Forest Glen or bring in the flyer that will be sent home and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Forest Glen!

- Youth Softball Clinic sponsored by Bay Port Softball for Girls K-8 will be on March 17th from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. This will give your daughter the opportunity to learn softball skills from the Bay Port Players and Staff!
- Save the date: Thursday, April 25th (5:30pm-9:00pm) at 1951 West/Rock Garden in Green Bay. Annual Taste of the Villages and Auction will benefit the HSSD Giving Tree pantry. If you are looking to request the use of one of the district’s facilities, it’s easy! Just click on the Request Facilities button from the calendar page and sign up. It’s that simple. School Board Connection with Mark Ashley
Learning and Growing Together at the State Education Convention
Every January the State Education Convention, sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB), takes place in Milwaukee. It is an opportunity for school board members, superintendents, and other school administrators from all across the state to network, learn, and share important and timely issues and ideas related to public education in Wisconsin. The theme of the 98th Wisconsin State Education Convention was “Leading for Excellence and Equity.” Howard-Suamico School Board members conducted a breakout session at the Convention on high-performing Board/Superintendent relationships. This presentation provided valuable information regarding Howard-Suamico’s policy governance model.
Participating in the Wisconsin Association of School Board Education Convention each year is just one way that the Board of Education embraces their shared dedication to life-long learning.
