What is a Retail Marketer?
Retail Marketing is the process by which retailers promote awareness and interest of their goods and services in a effort to generate sales for their customers. There are many different approaches and strategies retailers can use to market their goods and services.

- As a marketer you need to understand how your customer thinks and behaves when making a purchase.
- Increase sales.
- Encourage NEW customers.
- Increase the brand awareness.
- Come up with strategies to Promote the Brand, Product and Service.
- To be able to take into account the practical needs of their customer, as well as their emotional and personal needs.
Hours
- Working hours are generally 9am to 5pm. Some evening and weekend work may appear when organising or attending events, or when working on a big marketing campaigns. Paid overtime is rare, although some organisations will offer time off in lieu.
- Part-time work is possible. Short-term contracts are also available, generally through recruitment agencies.
Salary
- Marketing assistants and trainees start on salaries around £17,300 to £19,000.
- The overall average salary is £45,021.
- Salaries for marketing managers are £38,192.
- Senior brand or product managers earn an average salary of £48,296.
- The average salary for a marketing director is £86,165. Certain businesses offer higher wages and their pay increases may come with moving sectors rather than having lots of experience in one area.
