REIMBURSEMENT REQUESTS
We highly suggest that you do not wait til December 2nd to submit requests. In fact, families are encouraged to begin submitting your requests (with the proper documentation) as soon as possible to avoid the backlog and potential delays that come with the last minute submissions by our 400 + families.

Join us in celebrating 25 years of Alaska trivia excellence
When: TUESDAY, November 10th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Egan Center (downtown)
Join us in celebrating 25 years of Alaska trivia excellence. Since 1991, middle school students from the Anchorage School District have come together to compete at the Egan Center for the Big Wild Life (BWL) Trivia Contest. The event challenges students to do a deep dive about Anchorage through their Alaska Studies course. This year there is a special emphasis on Anchorage's Centennial.
Eight Schools are participating this year:

- Family Partnership Charter School
- Mirror Lake Middle School

- Wendler Junior High School
WORKKEYS ASSESSMENT (CCRA)
Who: All juniors not registered to take the ACT
When: November 16th, or 17th, or 19th
Where: FPCS Board Room
Times: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Practice Tests
Full-length online WorkKeys practice tests are available to purchase. The practice test will look and feel like a real WorkKeys test—which includes two sample questions at the beginning. Individuals will receive an estimate of the level score achieved at the end of the practice test. Individuals may also review each question and see why the answer he or she chose was correct or not prior to selecting "Quit" to end your session.
Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, and Reading for Information practice tests are available for $5.00 each.

"What I Need" (WIN) Wednesdays
Helping your child succeed has never been easier!
Dates: November 11, 18 (2nd Semester dates TBA)
Where: FPCS Office (Board Room, left side, second door)
WIN stands for "What I Need," and is a highly individualized time in the day for students in grades K through 9 during which students get extra help, extensions or enrichment. FFPCS is launching a new program designed to provide specific and targeted individualized instructional support for students. Teachers will be available to provide enrichment, interventions, and extend curriculum utilizing an array of resources.
Parents can come to learn how to use these programs at home. Or, come and learn about resources to support students in math or reading. This service is FREE to our students and FULFILLS the 9 HR Certified Teacher Contact requirement.
We can accommodate up to 20 students at a time, so you may drop in anytime. Students may stay for up to one hour.

AMERICA RECYCLES DAY
Each year on November 15, millions of people across the United States take part in America Recycles Day, a day which was created to raise awareness about recycling and the purchasing of recycled products.

Calling all SENIORS
Are you planning on graduating next May?
The first quarter has flown by and it is time to start planning your graduation celebration. Join other FPCS seniors and their families as we plan for the big event. Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the East High School Auditorium.
We will have a planning meeting and potluck on Tuesday, Nov. 17th from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Family Partnership Office (located at 401 E. Fireweed Ave, Suite 100).
Please plan on bringing a dish and ideas to share.

When: Saturday, December 19th
Time: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Where: Dimond Greenhouses (located at 1050 Dimond blvd.)
Fee: $20.00 (requisition in goods and services under your already existing science or art classes in your student's ILP)
Note: All materials are included in the $20.00 fee. Can we please get two or three volunteers to bring cookies to share?
