Virtual Learning Survey Closes September 3
Parents of Students in Grades K–8:
The Clarke County School District is developing plans to extend its virtual learning options to students in grades K–8. Virtual learning will be provided by Proximity Learning and will consist of live instruction (synchronous) during normal school hours. Students will receive all core subjects (e.g., English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies) through certified Proximity Learning teachers. They differentiate lessons based on student's needs, learning styles, and interests while delivering our district’s curriculum through an Enriched Live Instruction Model. Although not CCSD employees, these teachers care about their students and their academic success.
Additionally, specials (K–8) and connections (6–8) courses (e.g., art, music, health/physical education) will be offered through asynchronous instruction by CCSD teachers. Students will also receive social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons from a district school counselor.
This survey is for K–8 families only. Please click here to complete the survey to indicate your interest in virtual learning for your student. The survey is scheduled to close on September 3, 2021. The survey is not binding; however, it will help in our planning. After we finalize student interest, we will provide registration information, and students will receive virtual instruction for the remainder of the fall semester.

High Schools Pivot to Virtual Instruction
High school students will pivot to virtual instruction for four days, beginning on Tuesday, September 7. Adaptive special education students will remain in-person with no change to their instructional model. Students will return to in-person learning on Monday, September 13, 2021.
School athletics will continue with practices and competitions as normal. High school leaders will make determinations regarding other clubs and extracurricular activities. Click the link below to read the full letter to parents/guardians.

- Parents do not need to turn any updated records into the schools.
- Once your child's immunizations are up to date, the school nurse can view the records in GRITS, the state's electronic immunization registry.

New CCSD COVID-19 Reporting Tool
To provide additional clarity and real-time data regarding the number of cases of COVID in our schools, a CCSD COVID-19 Dashboard is available on the district website containing automatic hourly updates. We hope our community will find this additional data helpful as we work together to provide a safe learning environment for the students of Clarke County.
- The CCSD COVID-19 Dashboard displays positive cases in the past 14 days and 30 days across the district and by each school, with hourly updates.
- Previously, data was reported in 7-day increments and was only updated each Friday. This new 14-day window will allow us to communicate more school-level data, as those numbers are typically too small to report in 7-day increments.
- Precautionary quarantines will continue to be reported at the district level; however, it will now show the total percentage of students and staff combined to provide additional context for the data.
- A graph of monthly counts illustrates trends at both the school and district levels.
COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Information
CCSD recommends that all eligible students and staff get vaccinated against COVID and testing for anyone who has symptoms of COVID. Watch this important message from Tionya Lawrence, a Nurse Practioner at the Hilsman Health Center -- she and her team help CCSD be "Healthy Every Day!"
