Have You Seen Griffy The Elf???
Educators Learning From Each Other
Secret Santa Caroling by Student Council
Better Together Day
Message from the Principal
Hello Parents and Guardians of the Pawsome Pumas,
Secret Santas . . . Better Together Days . . . Missing Elves
I can not think of a better way to bring the 2018 portion of the school year to a close than by having our Spirit Week and #BetterTogether Winter Concert. Mrs. Wirth and the scholars created three masterful performances that uplifted the entire school community as we head into the winter holidays and the new year. More importantly, they represented what our theme of the 2018-2019 school year has been. If you did not have the opportunity to watch the performance in person, please view it in the link below.
We want to thank each and every parent for entrusting us with the academic, emotional and social well-being of your children. We are continuing to thrive this year because of your support. This year we have collaborated on educating our scholars in a team teaching environment. Our scholars are continuing to show progress each and every day. The educators at Prairie are spending more time learning and growing with each other. We want our scholars to have a wonderful winter break. We would still like to encourage our scholars to spend a little time reading over the winter break as they also recharge their batteries.
School will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd. We can not wait to see what the 2019 school year will bring to Prairie Elementary School. The one thing that we know for sure is that we will do it together. #BetterTogether

Artists of the Month
Congratulations to our next Artists of the Month for the 2018-2019 school year!
Remember that being selected as Artist of the Month is not just about the craftsmanship and creativity you put into your art work, but also the leadership and good behavior you show in Art class. December's Artists of the Month are Finn Leech, from 1st grade and Lexi Rode, from 3rd grade. Congratulations, Pumas!

Important message for all 4th and 5th grade Scholars & Families:
Cross Country Skiing anyone?? All 4th & 5th grade scholars at Prairie will be introduced to this exciting activity. We will have one class in the gym to learn about how to put the cross country skis on correctly, the basics of the diagonal stride (classic technique) and how to get up after falling. Then, weather permitting we will go outside and practice the lifetime skill of cross country skiing.
In order to participate safely it is imperative that all 4th & 5th grade scholars have the proper winter apparel. I will do my best to inform the kids when we will be going outside to ski but as predictable as our weather is it is not always possible. Please make sure your child has all of the following clothes during the winter months so that they are prepared to go outside as the weather allows us. If they do not have all of the following they will not be allowed to participate.
Clothing needed to ski:
Winter jacket
Winter gloves
Winter hat
Winter boots
Snow pants.
Thank you for your support of your child's health and education.
