SUMMIT VIRTUAL TALENT SHOW ENTRIES DUE APRIL 28
THE SUMMIT TALENT SHOW IS BACK!
It's time again for The Summit Elementary Virtual Talent Show!
This is a great opportunity to show your friends, teachers and classmates your unique alent!
Here is how it works:
1. Think of your special talent. You could sing, dance, do a sport, show a magic trick, etc.
2. Practice, practice, practice your talent until you feel like you are ready to record it.
3. At the beginning of the recording, TELL US YOUR FIRST NAME. Then show us the talent. Be sure your video lasts no more than 3 minutes. It can even be as short as 5 seconds!
4. Email the video to SummitTalent2021@gmail.com
5. The last day to submit your video is April 28, 2021.
Once we receive all the videos, we will upload the videos into a YouTube Channel playlist! (The channel will only be accessible to those with the link and it will not be made public so someone could search for it.)
Looking for ideas? Check out last year's Talent Show!

YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR CELEBRATION OF LEARNING
- To control the amount of people we have in classrooms at one time, we are asking you to come sometime during your designated 30 minute window, based on child's last name:
- 4:30-5:00 (A-E),
- 5:00-5:30 (F-K),
- 5:30-6:00 (L-P),
- 6:00-6:30 (Q-Z).
- **** Please note if you are unable to make it at your designated time that you are welcome to come at another time which works for your family.
- Families will just be visiting their child's homeroom classroom. There will not be other places to visit in the school on this evening. If you have more than one child at Summit, choose to go to one classroom first and then go to your other classrooms. We realize families with mulitple children may be at school longer than others.
- Please enter through the East or South doors (main entrance doors or the doors facing the large parking lot). Everyone will be asked to exit through the North (recess) doors and then head to the parking lots to leave.
- To control the crowd size, we ask that just immediate family members attend.
- All in attendance will need to wear a mask or face covering. Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should stay home.
We truly hope this special evening will be exactly that, a CELEBRATION of LEARNING! It is a true celebration that we have made it this far in the year in school with the option of in-person learning each day for our students. We are excited to celebrate with you!
PARENT INPUT FOR CLASS PLACEMENT FOR 2021-2022
One of the tasks that spring brings to a school setting is to begin to formulate class lists for next year.
The process of assigning children to classes is not an easy one. The Oconomowoc Area School District’s objective is to place each child in a learning environment which will stimulate him/her to the greatest extent possible. A second goal is to maintain a balance in our classes—a balance in each of the following areas:
- Total class size
- Overall abilities/ talents in the group
- Ratio of boys/girls
- Special needs areas
- Behaviors
- Personalities of the individuals within the class
I will be working closely with staff to determine next year’s class placements. Parental input into the grouping process is important and should be taken into consideration as one factor in the establishing of a homeroom grouping. If you believe that your son or daughter has needs or circumstances that require consideration as our staff determines homerooms, we would like to be made aware of that information. Please remember this input will in no way guarantee a specific outcome. I would ask that parents refrain from requesting an individual teacher, and instead focus on the unique needs of your child.
In the past, parental input has been submitted through a paper form turned in to the office. Since this method would be difficult at this current time, we will be utilizing a Google Survey instead.
Parental input is due no later than Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Please give your input through the Parental Input Google Form by answering each question. You will need to explain the special needs of your child you would like to have considered as placement decisions are made.

WILL YOU BE A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER OR PARAPROFESSIONAL FOR US THIS YEAR?
In order to make our school reopening plans work, we know that we are going to need an ample supply of substitutes this year. Even if you can only be available to work one day per week or one day every other week, we will most likely need you. To become a teacher substitute, you need an Associate or College degree, take a class, and then apply to the Department of Public Instruction for your substitute license. To become a paraprofessional substitute, you need to have at least a high school diploma.
Thank you for considering.
