Listening Conferences
Listening Conferences are intended for our school staff to get to know you and your student(s). Below, I have listed possible topics to discuss with your child’s teacher, but the conference is really an opportunity for you to share with our school staff information that would help your son or daughter have a great year.
When you think about your child, what makes you proud?
What are they passionate about?
How has the overall school experience been for your child?
How can your teacher make your child feel safe and open to trying new things?
Do you have any suggestions on how to best connect with your child?
What sparks your child’s interest?
What triggers frustration or withdrawal?
What two things I should do and two things that I should avoid?
What are your hopes and dreams for the school year?
What helps to motivate your child to do his/her best?
How do you prefer to be contacted?
What else would like to share to help make 2018-2019 a great year for your son or daughter?

Hadfield PTO - Get Involved
- Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
- Tap into a Network. PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
- Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTO, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.
- Speak Up. PTO can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
- Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTO's play an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.
- Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
Before School Drop Off and After School Pick Up
Before School
Students should go to the playground before school with supervision starting at 8:15am. The bell rings at 8:35am and students will line up with their teachers to enter the building. Students will be allowed to enter the front doors for breakfast only until 8:30am. After that all students will be directed to the playground. Linden Street is a two way street before school and there is a lot of traffic so please don't allow your child to cross the street in front of traffic. There is no parking on the south side of Linden Street which is the side closest to school. Please be aware that it is a $25 parking ticket if you park there. After School
Linden Street becomes a ONE WAY street from Bell Street to Oakland Avenue beginning at 3:00pm. You may park on the south side of Linden Street which is the side closest to school. There is NO PARKING on the north side of Linden. There is also NO PARKING on Oakland Avenue as this is where the busses park.

Annual Online Registration
Annual registration is a process by which families can update the information on file with the district. This process is required to be completed by all families at least once per year. For the safety and security of your child it is important that the school district has accurate contact and address information on file for your family. This information can be supplied on-line using the process described in the Online Registration Procedure.
If you have never logged into the Parent Portal or have forgotten your password contact Mrs. Roth at 970-1505 for access.
Students will not be allowed to take their iPads home until the Annual Registration section is completed.

Vision Screening
Waukesha County Dental Clinic
Hadfield second and third graders are invited to take advantage of a free dental program offered by the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic.
This program is designed to provide dental examinations, decay prevention (fluoride varnish), dental sealants if needed, and education about keeping teeth and gums healthy. Sealants are a tooth colored, plasticlike material that has been proven to be very effective in protecting teeth from decay (cavities). They are placed only on the chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars), but are not put on teeth that already have cavities.
The program will take place at school on Friday November 2nd. and all second and third graders are invited to participate. Dental hygienists from the Waukesha County Community Clinic will talk with students about the program and about keeping their smiles healthy on October 15th. They will then send home permission forms.
