Black History Month - Sharing Our Cultural Roots: The prefects are organizing programming for Black History Month in February, and the theme for this year is ‘Getting to the Roots.’ As part of this event, the prefects would like to feature profiles about our black students and staff so we can learn more about them and their families. If your child identifies as black and is willing to participate, please fill out this Google Form. The mini-biographies will be put up as posters around the school.
Community Engagement - “True to others” Photography Teaching assistance needed!
If you have a passion for photography and want to give back to our community, we have a great opportunity for you. In collaboration with The Contactivity Centre, Selwyn House offers weekly photography courses to seniors in the Montreal community. We are looking for students to help our teachers lead the classes and help the seniors improve their photography skills. If you are interested in signing up, please email Ms. Segal for more information.
Bread and Beyond: Bread and Beyond needs your help!
Are you looking for volunteer opportunities to do as a family? Why not make sandwiches to support local organizations who serve Montreal’s homeless population. It’s cold out there and our community needs our support. Click here for more information. You can also find information on our website.
Duke of Edinburgh: Drop-in hours have changed. Please click here for new drop-in times.
Bell Let’s Talk Day: On Wednesday, January 26, Senior School students listened to a conversation between Grade 11 students James Sabbagh and Vito Guzzo and our guest speaker, Mr. Philippe Hudon, who shared his story about his journey with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). He spoke about talking to others as a way to feel relief from the stigmas around his mental health and encouraged students to build a group of friends who they can talk to about their mental wellbeing.
