Last week, the District sent you an email informing you that the first day of school will be September 21st and explaining that middle school students who selected the "in-person" option would be starting with online instruction (the plan for CRVA and Remote Learning remains unchanged). I would like to outline some of the big questions related to the change for those who selected "in-person".
*We will be setting up a Chromebook pickup schedule. Families will be able to drive through the horseshoe drive on 10th Street and get their device at the curb. We will work to accommodate families who need alternate pickup times once a date(s) has been determined. Along with the Chromebook, there will be a document to sign stating that the device is in your family's possession and care. More information will be provided in the coming week.
Students will have all classes in their typical schedule. This includes all the core classes, advanced classes, PACT classes, special education classes, exploratories, PE, and music classes. Some classes will need to be modified like instrumental music, but instruction will occur. The remote “in-person” classes will be taught by a McKinley teacher.
Students will be engaged in school from 7:50am-2:50pm with an hour off for lunch. Lunch times are to be determined.
Attendance will be required. Breaks will be provided throughout the day.
Please be looking for communication from the district regarding middle school fall activities.
Take Care,
Jason Martinez
