The Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of diplomats from different countries, debating their assigned country’s policies and perspectives in one of the committees of the UN.
The Model UN Club (MUN Club) will have fun in engaging authentic simulations of United Nations and other intergovernmental committees, by learning the workings of the UN system, and the skills of debate, compromise, conflict resolution and negotiation. The fine web of world diplomacy and its functioning will be understood through research, discussion and debate of current global events.
You are welcome to join the Model UN Club for one of our introduction meetings; there will be 3 available times to attend:

Faith C. to dance in The Nutcracker
Faith C., grade 9, will be dancing in The Nutcracker with the Scripps Performing Arts Academy this December. Faith began dancing at Scripps Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) when she was 4 years old. Her love of dance blossomed from there. This is her third season with Scripps Ballet Theatre (SBT), the youth ballet company of SPAA. This past summer, she attended BalletMet’s 5 week Summer Intensive in Columbus, Ohio, where she trained under Mr. Timothy Lynch (PNB), Ms. Alexandra Dickson (PNB), Ms. Patricia Barker (GRB), and Mr. Edwaard Liang (BalletMet).
As a member of SBT some roles she has enjoyed performing include Princess Florine from Sleeping Beauty in 2014, both Arabian and Marie in the 2015 Nutcracker, and Kingdom of the Shades Corps from La Bayadere in the spring of 2016. This year Faith looks forward to dancing the role of Ballerina Doll in the Nutcracker, a role she has dreamt about dancing since she was 5.
Come see this special production of The Nutcracker, one that the San Diego Union Tribune calls a "Spellbinding Show." And you'll get to see one of our very own MEA students perform! Show times are at 2:00 pm on December 3, 4, 10, and 11. Click for link to tickets and more information
