Veterans Day - Thank You Mr. Dalpra
Veterans Day is always observed on November 11th. It is the day when Americans and the world honor all living military veterans. Third grade teacher, Mr. Dalpra, is a veteran. He served in the United States Army for 8 years. He was stationed in Alaska and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. He served in Charlie Company 3rd Battalion 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. He has given so much to keep all of us safe and free. Thank you Mr. Dalpra for your service to our country.

10 Reasons to Get Involved at Hadfield
2. Volunteering offers tangible ways to be a part of things. Sometimes we might mean well, but our busy lives get in the way of committing. Joining a parent group will provide concrete ways to get involved , whether at events, in the classroom, or on a committee.
3. It feels great to participate! Your child spends a lot of time at school, and it's great to share some of their school related experiences with them.
4. You'll get to know other parents. It's powerful to create a circle of adult friends around school, and having a shared interest is a good place to start. What's more it can help foster connections between families in your community.
5. Your help is always needed. Whether it's helping run the next big event or providing support in the classroom, there are always ways to pitch in.
6. It's a manageable commitment. Volunteering can seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Spend an hour at any event and your efforts will be appreciated. And remember, it's always OK to say no when you're busy.
7. It's fun! Even simple events like dances or family night can spice up your week.
8. You can tailor volunteering to play to your strengths. Within a parent group or school community there are many ways to contribute, some of which are sure to complement your strengths, interests, or professional skills.
9. Have a great idea? Volunteering gives you opportunities to get your ideas out there.
10. Volunteering provides another way to get to know school staff to better understand your child's school.

Hadfield Family Night - December 6th
Secret Santa Shopping Saturday December 8th
Hadfield Way
Hey there Huskies! We have now had our second all school assembly where we wrapped up our focus on identifying emotions, and with the help of our 5th graders, introduced our theme for November; EMPATHY! Students are working learning about what it means to, “walk in someone else’s shoes.” We encourage you talk to your student at home about using their identifying emotions skills to observe how others are feeling and show them understanding and support. Thank you for your continued support as we continue to grow and build our Hadfield Community!
Volunteers - Thank you!
Also a huge thank you to Mara Riebau and Val McKinney for helping with picture retake day. You were such a big help getting all the students to the photographer and making sure they all looked awesome for their picture.

School Messenger App & Safe Arrival
Hadfield will be implementing the District's new Safe Arrival attendance protocol effective Monday October 22nd. As with any new system, we expect that there may be a few issues that arise along the way. If you experience any issues please report them to the contacts listed in the attached letter.
Here are a few tips that will help make your transition to the new system easier.
1) By far the easiest way to interact with the new system is by downloading the app on your phone and signing up for an account.
2) If you are not an app user and prefer to use your computer signup and login at https://go.schoolmessenger.com/
3) The phone option is still available by calling the attendance line at school. There will be a menu there to transfer your call into the new system. You may however, want to use the direct number 1-866-490-7371. By dialing direct from a phone that is registered with the district, the system should recognize the number you are calling from and be able to quickly identify your children and allow you to confirm their absence.
